And this. they have a web based tracking system.  Very interesting.   I don’t normally have post time during day but temporary self isolation as have aches, shivering, fluctuating temps so in bed waiting to see if it is a) aggravated hay fever, b) a cold, c) another bug, d) flu, e) ....

Still no sign of the UK figures .

I wonder whether these updates are now viewed as market sensitive .

Probably wouldnt make much difference today, as at this time, markets are in freefall again, after semi-recovery this week. Dead cat bounce mark 1 happened this week.

Remember Folks;

I think we must take 'local variations' in Population, Population density, Population demographic & such into account with the CFR's we see?

Take 'Wuhan' itself (with the politics removed?) you have a population that has lived in one of China's biggest industrial growth areas for 25 yrs?

Folk living there have been living through the worst 'industrial pollution' ever?

Most men smoke, few women do.

Think of the 'lung health' of folk who were adults over this 'rapid industrialisation' & tell me how many would B in an 'at risk' group from Covid-19?

The N. Italian region has an aging demographic ( kids headed for the bright lights?) in a mainly 'rural' setting (etc, etc)

I'm not trying to breed complacency here, the virus is among us ALL I'm sure and spreading rapidly ('Le Strange's Vault in Gringotts Bank' & that Silverware?) but just don't lose your Head whilst all around R losing theirs an' all that eh?

Can they not suspend trading on the stock market in view of this continual free fall?  If so, why haven’t they done it?

The current CFR rate King County, VA is 28.125%. For the USA as a whole it is 6.79%.

I wonder what the demographics are like in KC? Older people?

They’ve only really tested residents of a nursing home which would tend to skew the figures!

Wasn't it a nursing home in King County?

Because things are not bad enough yet probably. Difficult thing to call.

It's not a continual free fall.   Here's this week so far on the FTSE100.  Yes this is on the back of big losses the week before but even so I can't see any reason to suspend.  Plenty of people (braver than me) are seeing this as a buying opportunity.  Also for investors and those with pensions (ie nearly everyone) the stock market is a highly long term thing.

Nah. Not that serious. If it headed down another 20% over a day or two's trading, then yes.

17 new cases picked up from travelling outside the UK

8 new cases picked up in the UK

Important question is, how many of those 8 can be traced to another carrier?

I openly admit i'm being speculative, in case anyone wants to chastise me, but my 'cruise in Carib' posts are not that far off the mark in terms of 000s returned(returning) to UK from that region over last 2 months, in light of US cases increasing, and mixing of nationalities in port towns out there.

Wait and see re details for some UK cases over next week or so. Hmmm.....i'm reading like GW now, yikes!!
