According to the GFS @Hawesy wetbaws look better later for some accumulations at low levels.

Yep does look more promising later in the day. I wonder if the precipitation will still be as widespread then!

Planning to hit the hills after 12pm, as any precipitation should have cleared by then. Decent windchill temps, -5C,  and bright conditions should make for an excellent hike.

Great opportunity to test out a new synthetic insulation jacket. Ridiculously light weight at 335g and I have doubts it will keep me warm.

    We shall see....

Where are you headed? I was going to go out but wind speeds look too high for my liking. Hope to get out a bit tomorrow instead!

Heavy snow shower passing over now, and with the wind getting up along with it it's been real blizzard-like for the last few minutes. Be back to sunshine soon no doubt, but at least this has the feel of winter about it.

Only thing we've not had this morning is thunder and a flash of lightning. Really is WILD out there!

Been snowing on and off all morning, but everything melting when it hits the ground. Off to Google wetbaws so I understand how this affects the snow ?

Fairly frequent and heavy showers today so far. Lying during the showers but melting in the sunny spells between, just about holding on in the shade.

The showers have eased off recently but the wind... crikey, not going further than the shed if it's going to be like this this afternoon.

Very heavy showers with strong gusts last night around 60mph here. This morning at 10.30am and again at 11.30am we had some thunder followed by a very heavy hail shower.
