The last 3 days have been pretty exciting here, especially the overhead thunder and lightning. At last this winter has delivered something to remember ?

Had 3 flashes and bangs already here this year. Makes up for all the near misses we had last year. Hopefully a good omen for the convective season to come ;)

The snow still hasn't come to anything beyond a slushy mess at the house so we went to the snow. At the small car park at the top of Glen Ogle it was proper snow with a few inches on the ground. By th

If only we had the same number of showers lined up today as we had yesterday! Typical that the conditions for settling snow on lower ground finally arrive as the ppn fades away! Easing off already here but a dusting in the city in the space of 10 mins.

Nice little streamer!

Probably the wind funnel helping it ? Fife snow shield doing a good job today due to that NW flow and showers being weaker than the last few days, I had my eye on that one near Stirling but looks like it will head toward Edinburgh too.

Fizzling out on the radar, doubt it will make it here.

We might have been there 18 hours previously but another walk up the hill at Glen Ogle did not disappoint. Easily a foot of snow higher up but far less towards the car park:

A lot of the snow had fallen through the trees so the trees didn't have much on them relative to the ground. But aye, snow laden trees are awesome.

You want to use a better forecast service, one that said "sunshine and showers" and that the showers would fall as snow ?

More action today than there was yesterday

That's one of those videos that could be an hour long and I'd watch it til the end - insanely heavy snow there. Nice!

Yesterday in Dunoon saw more wintry showers with strong gusty winds however no low level snow just more on the hills. Today so far has been sunnier with the heavy showers less frequent we also had some thunder this morning during a heavy sleet shower.

It's not about the size of the measuring stick it's how you use it. But when it comes to snowfall depths size does matter ??
