Morning all,

Up to +5c/+3c here on the Fife Riviera with an easterly breeze.

Rather predictably it's not snowing! Light rain and +2c. Snow was a fanciful idea really with an easterly breeze in this setup

Ah Met Office you sure do love to disappoint...snow at the moment you say...radar now heavy rain and the actual weather outside agrees!

The hills/mountains across the water look great but snow above 350 meters does not cut it anymore! (It has been the story of Winter 2019/2020) The days I have planned to head up the higher hills this Winter have been non starters due to last minute working, storm force winds or my son having a wee bug or a bad cold!

It’s February 13th and I have seen about ten minutes of snowfall at sea level! What a pile of sh*te this Winter has been! (Feel better after that moan and getting it off my chest! )

So now I look forward to Storm Dennis but no doubt that will be another letdown from an extreme winds point of view as it will be the bog standard 50mph to 60mph gusts pish!

Before that arrives a wee windy spell on Saturday.

Then Storm Dennis:

I need to relocate to Lapland from November to March, Oklahoma from April to June and Miami from July to October.

-6C in Halkirk and all white too, must have copped a last late snow shower overnight.  Really wintry this morning. Animals static still, drivers crawling around (better than speeding I guess) and ditches with thick ice.

Drizzle, 2.4C, slushy 7cm remaining. Got down to -1.6C last night so the coldest since 2018.

edit, oops, just realised we had -3.5C on 1st Feb 2019!

As expected cold rain here with temps around 3C. See a bit of snow has fallen in the Auchterarder area so a bit better inland and with just a little elevation.

@CatchMyDrift the wrf can't get them all right and I still think it has handled this recent spell well with areas of showers and didn't just show them all as pure snow like the euro 4 though both models got the widespread lying snow wrong for whatever wetbulbing reason

@edo @Mr Frost it's when it snows for only the second time in 100 years in Baghdad that's when you know

A rare winter storm coated Baghdad in snow Tuesday morning for only the second time in the Iraqi capital in the past century.

I thought I would share next 10 days accumulated precipitation on 00z ECM obscene amounts in w highlands not all rain! While NE Scotland in a very pronounced rain shadow different worlds.

That's over an inch a day for 10 days.  Seems unlikely even for the west Highlands.  Nice image though.

Maybe the ECM precip charts have been to the same Daily Mail sponsored finishing school as the wind gust charts?

and the 'projected snow depth' charts....
