I'll happily take half of what Peebles is getting! Hope we get enough showers tracking north of where this main action seems to be getting forecast.

Some more pics from this morning in the Lomond Hills. Just the most sublime colours at sunrise. We had 12cm this morning, sunny all day except for a slight freshening up in the afternoon, now -0.7C an

Standing an impressive 5ft 5in tall - the kids have done well with limited resources ?

The snow still hasn't come to anything beyond a slushy mess at the house so we went to the snow. At the small car park at the top of Glen Ogle it was proper snow with a few inches on the ground. By th

Ooooo. I appear to be in the middle of that lovely amber colour. :cold:

I was thinking of you when I saw that area map and that you might be wise to nip up to Broughton for your 'snowed in' rations. The A701 can get a wee bit 'drifty' !

Finally!  something worth talking about!   Yesterday was just a sleety mix which lay on the grass etc but the roads remained clear.

Noticeably turning colder here now and the showers are really beefy.

We currently have temp sitting at 0.8c/ -0.1c DP/WSW wind of 9mph.  All pretty conducive for anything that falls from the sky to turn to snow.  (just need it to fall from the sky!)

Shame it's so marginal this morning. Some really beefy snow showers which, if the conditions had been better, would have left a fair cover by now.

Went to Tesco in Peebles on Saturday and stocked-up big time! Local shop in Broughton selling bags of oak to burn though - always worth a visit as it's hot hot hot.

Dewpoint has gone negative for the first time during this 36 hour spell. Nice.

I usually call him Batty Sean - hence the mental depths!

He's not too bad really, usually pretty accurate most of the time.

I love that Tesco in Peebles. I used to do some work in there and although it's the smallest Tesco you can ever imagine, it's a great shop and the staff and management are really nice people. I did a photography job at the newly opened Broughton stores last year too, and was v. impressed by the collective village initiative. It's an excellent shop now, and has a better selection of goodies than it ever had before.

Drove down the M74 early this morning, couple of hefty hail and sleet showers which covered the road then i got kicked off at J11 for the earlier serious accident. Loads of cars/lorries stuck on the motorway while the accident is investigated and looks like they may still be there as the roads still closed.

Side roads were dodgey with about an inch of snow lying on the roads, couple more inches on the verges but fine with care.

I'll miss the snow down here but enjoy whoever gets it today!

Perfect conditions now but we seem to be missing the precipitation now. Never mind ?

Looking good for the borders later,,,enjoy folks ❄️❄️

Still snowing!

If it doesn't make it this far east I might just have to get you to dig out a pitch for me and bring the motor-home over. I didn't even see that depth on the site in Austria over Xmas & New Year.

Alford this morning was snow-less, with a a sleety shower rattling through as I went to work. Up the hill a bit at my house we has a patchy thin covering of lying snow, but it looked like it'd had fallen wet then frozen, that was certainly what need scraped from the car windscreen. At the moment Inverurie is similar to yesterday i.e. bright and sunny but with a cold wind.

Snow showers on and off here all morning but conditions are not good enough for it to settle. Hopefully see some action later when travelling to East Kilbride.

Very little making it here but sleet when it does... Ground drying out in wind though so still hopeful if not expectant of a wee cover late tonight tomorrow morning.

Meh. All gone a bit wet here. Lying snow from yesterday melting away and the showers having no impact at all. Snow line appears to be about 180-200m.

Just driven in to work, not even a hint of lying snow up to 200m.

Ive done well from this set up before, but this time around it's clearly further inland with some elevation.

I’d be buried if even 10% of what has fallen was actual snow and not wet frozen sludge.

Westerlies are what bring rain (and loads of it here) but are rarely cold enough for snow ?

Still, I’ll quickly get ready and leave to head north. I’m sure conditions will be a tad different in the Amber area come 5pm
