Looking like uppers are a bit marginal at times,,,good for people on high ground though

Aviemore and Braemar will do well over the next couple of days. Looks like a brief, but welcome, cold snap.

I’m starting to doubt whether showers will actually reach Edinburgh from the west. Latest GFS showing marginal precipitation. We’d need hefty showers to see something wintry as the temperatures are just too high...

Cairngorm mountain has recorded the highest maximum gust today at 125mph.

Still 50 mph off the record, tame.  wonder which papers will come out '125 mph winds batter Britain'

I am now suffering from model/chart viewing burnout!  It has been a long week of will it/won’t it.

Have a good night everyone and I look forward to the snow reports/pictures/videos in here over the next two and a half days. ⛄

Still waiting for the storm, when does it get going?

Where's ma snaw more to the point

On a more serious note, the torrential showers and anvils reminded me of summer storms today, roll on storm season this year after the disaster of  this "winter" !

Power cut, not surprised given the wind strength at present.

Noticed on getting home around 6pm that it'd been off as the alarm clock in bedroom was flashing. It was off around 1pm,but was it for long?

I didn’t go the family get together in the west end. I had a lot of work to do around the couch...  Wife went and proclaimed on arrival home ‘I’ve driven in worse that didn’t have a name’.

Drove back to Alford from Airdrie thus afternoon and it was surprisingly easy given the forecast and warning. A bit blustery all the way but I've driven in far worse. The heavy rain showers stopped as we got beyond Stirling/Dunblane and for the rest of the drive it was clear and sunny. Was a bit surprised on going through Dundee to see the signs saying the Tay bridge was completely shut.

As for snow, well I'm above 150m but I still doubt it'll get this far east. At least its looking like a chilly, but often sunny week in the NE.

The power was off for 30 minutes max. SSE was on the case asap.

If the met Office forecast for here is anything to go by then I'll be digging out on Wednesday morning

Almost constant wee dark clouds with the double snows from 3am on Monday til early hours of Wednesday morning

Pity it'll change again in half an hour

Well that was an anticlimax if ever there was one, only one of my bins got toppled over...the Beeb blew it again (pardon the pun) I'am done with them.

Since they ditched the Met Office is their new source of forecasts coming from James Madden at Exacta Weather..???

The radar is showing a lot of showers packing in from the west but few seem to be penetrating east at the moment, the Met Office is showing snow for this area from around 05:00 then throught Monday into Tuesday...lets hope there's lots of snow for everyone.
