Some more pics from this morning in the Lomond Hills. Just the most sublime colours at sunrise. We had 12cm this morning, sunny all day except for a slight freshening up in the afternoon, now -0.7C an

Standing an impressive 5ft 5in tall - the kids have done well with limited resources ?

The snow still hasn't come to anything beyond a slushy mess at the house so we went to the snow. At the small car park at the top of Glen Ogle it was proper snow with a few inches on the ground. By th

ICON now has a maximum wind gust of 100mph into the Glasgow area at lunch time tomorrow!

Should  say most of other models are in the 60-80mph range..

I'd be willing to bet nowhere inland through the central belt will see gusts reaching 80mph. ?

Most models and forecasts predicted higher winds up here tonight than tomorrow and the max where i am was about 55mph, i'd be surprised if Glasgow even reaches 60 tomorrow.

Hellish up here Shuggee, I've closed the curtains and the blinds for the first time ever -  I hate to feel claustrophobic and always leave curtains open but tonight it's unbearable.

Yes, the GFS tops out at 64mph, other models usually over estimate gusts vastly.

I am not sure what the GFS predicted for your area today but I don't remember it being much above 60mph anywhere in central or southern Scotland?

55/60mph no problem today! Low tide so no major issues.

Pretty standard stuff but still good fun.

Peak gust here 45.6mph, so nothing out the ordinary. Just sounds worse than it is on the house up here when there's more of a southerly angle. When it's a SW'erly we barely hear it. An easterly on the other hand, well.....those sound decidedly weird. All kinds of odd rumbles and whistles and creaks.

A short while ago very intense rain with ice mixed in sounded great tinkling on the windows now its all calmed down a bit.

I'am not yet 100% convinced we will see much lying snow here on the east coast next week the winds are from the wrong direction for starters the hills in the west usually mop up everything and is it going to be cold enough...fingers crossed I'am completely wrong.

This is sitting patiently in the shed wondering if it'll get out to play in the snow this winter...its been there a while.

Just look at the definition on that squall line beautiful (main thing here was the intensity of the rain) Screenshot_20200208_220004.thumb.jpg.d5df9d4e5cdec3d845e7180b6ac40c06.jpg
