Sunday started at 16c and  was a bit dull in the morning but sun came out a bit in the afternoon and got very humid. Allowed us to bale and wrap up some nice dry silage so we were not carting about too much water about . Growth took off again but the easterly drft has brought in some diamond back moths to the neeps from the Continent so another spray job this week. Their caterpillars are the problem if we let them breed as they devour the leaves. The haar has returned through the night here too and is as thick as I have ever seen it.Currently 14c and very humid so not sleeping.

Rinse and repeat although there’s the chance of some rain today to ‘brighten up’ the haar fest

Leuchars readings tell the whole story, but it’s a pretty monotonous read!

We've had a veritable rollercoaster down here compared to that, up to 18C yesterday and then back down to 12C overnight and flamboyantly switching between cloud and haar too.

I’m very jealous!  I’m having frightening  flashbacks to June 2007 which was a horrendous month locally, the least sunny June ever recorded at Leuchars. Although it did have one spectacular thunderstorm event, easily the most impressive I’ve experienced here. A neighbour’s radiators were blown off the wall following a lightning strike!

Sticky, muggy, midge! Temp down a good bit from yesterday when it got up to 27.6c here. Now at 21c but feels a lot cooler as we have a good bit of cloud today. Waaaay too hot for this girl over the weekend so very little done in the garden. Spent yesterday afternoon with some DVD's and a bottle of wine. Nice! A wee bit of Scotch Mist hanging around the mountains, might clear up later today. In the meantime I'm off for a wee walk to get the muscles moving.

Muggy, largely cloudy but bright. Currently 20.8c And feels very ‘close’.
Looks like we’ll get low 20s most of the week which is quite nice.

Hopefully a thunderstorm or two thrown into the mix!

Groundhog Day but less exciting as no snowstorm seems to follow a pattern of constant cloud during the day then the haar arrives in the evening. Wrf nmm looking somewhat interesting later today regarding thunder risk for areas further W/ NW and possibly SW with a convergence zone looking to setup for quite a long stretch. Models show anything that does develop lasting well into the evening also with them hovering over same areas could be risk of flooding with the heaviest ones. C706830B-48FC-4414-BC3C-21C7696EBC41.thumb.jpeg.6d31516e635c28f62efb45223717506d.jpeg33CDBD7E-74FD-4D9D-A5A1-73677FBBB0F1.thumb.png.640fa91f1899f79448f29fb7549f284e.png5B3DACCF-6AF0-421D-82F9-6D8CB6ABD664.thumb.png.7be94349356b7c65b6cbafda310b61e5.png365B6BD6-7108-463F-9208-BE675562D727.thumb.gif.40839ca09f2b2bd219ee3f80d60b43c1.gif

I am keeping an eye on those last charts! Heading out later for a walk to see if I can see/get under anything - bit too far North West here though so doubt it.

Ayrshire (new storm capital of Scotland 2020) has kicked off again - almost the exact same area as yesterday.

Met Office also has cells breaking out across many parts of the SW later.

@SW Saltire if you head W/NW (from Dumfries) you will probably see some action.

Meanwhile up here cloud is starting to break up - currently 19C and humid.

Lovely up in Orkney and Shetland...warm and plenty of sunshine.

@Norrance Not so lovely in Dundee! 12/13C high with drizzle/rain/fog/haar.

Cracking storm down there - wish we had a member in here who lived there! Great to see the pictures.

It is hard working from home when the radar is lively - if only it was Winter...guaranteed no excitement then! Just bog standard rain and wind nowadays!

@rossco89 this must be overhead or extremely close - can you see/hear anything?

@Stormeh You should have saved that Ayrshire beach trip for today!

Edit: South Lanarkshire might join in the fun shortly!

The sun is also really struggling to burn through the cloud here @NUT but its still warm at least.

@igloo might have been hit by that storm, looked torrential with hail from the radar.

Let's hope more join in the storm fun later or tomorrow!

@Mr Frost - Funnily enough I work 50 miles West of Dumfries so those storms are maybe 20 miles north of me. Can see some monsterous clouds to the hills to the North (Merrick/Cairnsmore etc).

However was clear blue sky on the fairly long commute to work and I would conservatively guess temperatures are 23/24c and feeling humid.

Aye, it gave a couple of rumbles of thunder where I am, and a wee shower, but nothing spectacular. Just run of the mill. It's pretty overcast so it's pretty hard to see them building. I can see some CB down Dumfries way just now, but it's just glimpses between clouds.

Heavy rain up in the hills towards New Galloway, took a wee run up.

Looks v heavy nearer home but don’t think anything overly exciting lightning wise

Aye - lightning seems to have died off now in that area.

Good stuff North of Dumfries now! @shuggee if my geography is correct you may see something pop up within the next hour!

@rossco89 Shame about the cloud! Think you were just a bit too far NW for the good stuff earlier.

Good day for storms down there - as @Ross B said hopefully a bit more widespread for the rest of us tomorrow/Wednesday. (Looks good for the Southern Uplands tomorrow)

Nice wee cell in the far SW ongoing:

@Mr Frost activity is around 30 miles south and west of me. Saw towering cloud tops visible over the other side of the local hills. Just sunny n humid here at 21.4°C. Yesterday the same after midday with a high of 21.1°C. Twelfth and thirteenth days this season of 20C+.

@Mr Frost - apparently there was torrential rain and lightning at home. Basically all around me

Hopefully more tomorrow by the sounds of it!

Sunshine here today for about twenty minutes - high of 20C and muggy.

Good stuff @SW Saltire

Tomorrow has more of the same!

Parts of Ayrshire, Dumfries and Galloway, Borders and Highlands most at risk.

Latest Euro4 for tomorrow:

I bet Wednesday has exactly the same areas at risk! (Not even going to look tonight )

I need to do some actual work tomorrow so best of luck to all the storm lovers in the areas above! Very jealous!

June 2019 delivered more widespread storms - hopefully it’s the same come the end of this June!
