What a difference a couple of days makes. Today started not to badly though it was chilly first thing. Wind picked up mid afternoon though it’s died down now.

I’m assuming this is the cold front passing through that you can see in the photos? I’m still very much a middle-aged newbie at all this

Cool start to the day at 5c making it feel properly autumnal. Having said that we have had oil fired rayburn off now for four months now so summer must have been genrally on the warm side.Probably going back on in the next few days.

A brighter morning today. The clouds have gone and the sun is out, maybe for the last time in a while.

Temperature currently 4.1 deg.C up from a minimum of 2.7 deg.C at 07:05, humidity is 97%, there's no wind, pressure is 1003.7 and rising slowly, no rain at the moment but 6.2mm in the last 24 hours.

Beautiful but a bit of a nip. Looking like that almost the sign of things to come. Autumn's here folks (eventually)

Well it was wet and windy overnight. This morning is bright breezy and can definitely feel the change in the air.

An all round decent day here really. Not as cold as I thought it would feel but colder than it has been. Managed to get out and wash the car so will probably rain for the next week..

Stayed dry and bright, even mostly sunny, but always on the chilly side despite being generally windless.

Temperature now 12.3 deg.C down from a maximum of 13.3 deg.C at 15:37, r.h. 64% hPa. falling slowly, no wind, no rain and cloud slowly building to current 6/8 cover.

Nice mainly sunny day, and no nagging wind for a change.

Much cooler than of late with a max of 12c at 16:30; temperature dropping quickly as already down to 5.8c.

Get feeling the greenhouse heater will be turning itself on overnight for the first time this autumn.

Local House Martins seem to have gone now as none seen since Monday - neighbour was commenting that their nest had a least two broods this year, the last fledging about two weeks ago.  First significant skein of geese seen today so Autumn has well and truly arrived.

Snap, nice and frosty outside. Altnaharra is also at - 5c, not long until snow hunting begins now

Well so much for my thought yesterday that sunny mornings might now be behind us. Not a cloud in the sky and the front of the house is bathed in the brightest sunlight. A real pleasure to get out of bed this morning.

Temperature currently 4.4 deg.C after an overnight minimum of 0.4 deg.C at 05:29, relative humidity of 95%, no wind, pressure at 994.9 hPa adjusted, no rain in the last 24 hours.

Chilly at -0.7C - first air frost :cold:

Thick freezing fog too - driving this morning on untreated roads was fun and who doesn't put their headlights on when visibility is less than 50m? Here's the same shot with two hours between in the garden. The first at that low of -0.7C and the second just now at +1.7C.

Nice to read the frost reports, lowest here was 5.9 C I was going to say looks like the frost chances on Friday night have downgraded but given how low the temps were in some places last night and u can never really tell if the models are overplaying or underplaying temps then who knows  1F470606-70F5-44D8-877C-6D970C1AC496.thumb.png.80f30f21d1183f6849ab4509b0835885.png0EE5F282-4B6C-425E-B5E8-9352505642CF.thumb.png.0184abae2f4e0876711f72057793bf11.png

I'm about to go for my flu jab, which is being dispensed in the surgery car park as a drive through exercise. I've been told to wear a short sleeved shirt to make delivering the jab easier. What are they going to do? Dart me as I drive past? Oh, and it's currently 12.0 deg.C, and I drive a canvas top land rover. Perfect short sleeve shirt weather. Still, at least it's sunny.
