Annoying day, blue skies on the horizon to the South and NE, but overcast here for most of the day.

In one of the few sunny intervals, temperature managed to get up to 16.0c

Light winds and dry.  Farmers combining like mad all around here the last few days.

Pinch punch first day of the month..

Another glorious morning here. Blue skies and bright sunshine , will it last? Probably not but I'm gonna enjoy it while I can.

@mardatha I took the kids to town for an ice cream and literally as soon as we walked out the shop the clouds ☁️ rolled in.

Another very fleeting sun day (very briefly the sun was out earlier this morning but I was shopping in tesco when it was even then disappeared by the time I was done) ;) Bit warmer tho so that was something I suppose. Got to admit glad we getting a bit of weather action tomorrow. MIGHT clear the skies a bit eventually

A reasonable start to Autumn.

Plenty of lovely sunshine in the morning but by lunchtime a lot of cloud had bubbled up accompanied by a stiff southerly breeze.

Afternoon thereafter a shifting battle between overcast conditions and sunny intervals - photo summarises it well.

Dry throughout and a max of 16c; feeling a lot milder outside this evening compared to last night (overnight low of 4c was lower than expected).

Autumn delivers heavy rain and wind gusts of 35mph tomorrow afternoon for here...no change from Summer really!

Looking forward to a frosty/sunny October/November and then a freezing cold and snowy December/January/February. :snowman-emoji::reindeer-emoji::santa-emoji:
Throw in a wee named storm as well!

Here are the actual Summer 2020 stats against the 1981-2010 anomaly/average. (Spot the errors above! )

One to forget around these parts!

Current temperature 15C, heavy rain and windy.

Low risk of lightning later.

A deep low and the associated forward side of an upper trough (PVA) will move into Ireland and northern and western Britain during Wednesday. Outbreaks of showery rain with some heavier downpours will develop along and just ahead of an advancing cold front through the period. Instability in this zone is very limited / non-existent (up to 200 J/kg) so lightning is not expected to be very widespread. However, the trough/front will generate a strongly sheared environment with deep layer and low-level shear of 30-40kts.  The could help to force some embedded deeper convection and thus some lightning cannot be ruled out. An area over central and northern Ireland into W/SW Scotland is the favoured area for lightning between 15z-22z.

Up at 6.00am looked at local forecast on here which said it would be dry and windy all day ,then looked at the threatening clouds and thought I don"t belive this forecast.       30 minutes later it was moderate rain and is still raining off and on now .Strong southerly wind and warm at 16c.

Nice warm feeling knowing grain is all tucked up in shed and 85% of the straw was baled in wonderful conditions yesterday.Just young grass straw to bale which which will need to ly for a few days to allow the grass part to dry into hay.

Shows those dark blue thunderstorm tracks nicely, and unlike in winter with the snowy convection it’s the smaller part of the Firth of Forth that is intensifying the storms obviously with it being a southerly rather than an easterly but still interesting.

and here’s hoping ⛄️

Oh dear very wet night ahead for you both.. remember the animals come 2 by 2... your gonna need a bigger boat..

Wet here tonight as Mrs Snaw has discovered a new colour changing Gin and I've raided the local beer section in Aldi.

Finally that wind is slowly dying down.

Thanks for the charts @Mr Frost they neatly illustrate how poor the summer has been (away from the far north).

Absolutely lashing it down. That wasn't in the forecast

I think we saw what you had to the east with very stormy looking sky at sunset around 8.00pm. 20200902_200539.thumb.jpg.79378c8aa4af547bc8527b0a6ad31e20.jpg
