Must be the wettest august day we've had in quite some time. After a brief lull it's came on heavier again

Evening all,

Grim and wet even over here in the relatively dry  East Neuk. Temperature has risen steadily and now sits at 17c/16c at Leuchars.

Some mammoth winter style rainfall totals:

The A83 has been buried yet again and there has been some bad flooding all over western central parts.

Looks like we're in the 50/75mm zone..........I believe it too. Only just finally starting to ease off a bit now

Thoroughly miserable day here, stayed around 13c for pretty much the entire day. Ended up putting the heating on which is a downside to working from home but the dogs appreciated it when they came back from their walk wetter than if they'd been in the bath. Temperature now sitting at 17.3c which will no doubt make for an uncomfortable sleep tonight.

Mild, wet and very windy at the moment. Looks like a squall line is about to come through and knock over the bins I just put out Oh aye and it's been like October with 50mm of rain so far..

Dry and cloudy to start with but that changed by lunchtime to steady heavy rain and cold at 12c.

All cleared through by teatime and what a contrast in the evening with some sunshine, blue skies and a continually rising temperature - now 16.2c outside which is the warmest so far today!

Very strong winds through the day, but it made the evening walk very pleasant as it kept the flies and midgies away and was refreshingly warm on the face at the same time.

One of the worst Summer days of all time yesterday - relentless rain and wind gusts approaching 40mph.

More rainfall later...lunchtime to evening.

Risk of thunderstorms/downpours on Friday:

Better day ,breezy dry but overcast and currently 21c. Picked the last of the cherries this morning with Mrs Northernlights. I think they will be the best memory of the summer!!!! 001.thumb.JPG.023ebc28063a321ca320ce29fa182720.JPG We have filled the freezer as well for Christmas.

They look delicious! I've not been brave enough to plant fruit trees but I may attempt to plant one over winter for next year.

It was gorgeous this morning when I got up but lots of cloud cover now.  Still reasonably warm however at 21c

Overcast for the most part today but very warm and humid with a max of 21.5c.

A light shower around 5pm otherwise dry with light winds.

Local rookery training for the remake of The Birds.

Beautiful start to the day with a bit of patchy cloud and temperature of 23c being recorded on my pws. Shame I’ll be at my desk for most of the day, might need to take the laptop outside for part of it.

21:30 last night 16.5C - muggy as hell and easily the worst midges I've experienced here at the cottage in the three years since moving.

Didn't quite get a sunny day (after a ncie start too) cloud filled in but didn't rain thankfully. Tomorrow rain should hold off to at least later in the day then looks like a fine weekend coming up before next week (possible heat and some pyrotecnics)? Who knows. Could well be a very interesting time weatherwise coming up

Lovely sunny day here. Just that poxy wind that won't let up.. Sat outside with Mrs Snaw. Im in shorts and a t-shirt she is all wrapped up in her winter gear. speaking of winter I'm gonna spend a bit of time going through the past winters threads and have a look at snaw pictures. BFTE 2018 should be a good one. @edo your "fooookkinng Troooon" outburst always makes me chuckle

The girls down south on my FB groups and forums are all struggling and moaning with the heat. One said forecast 37c for her over the weekend

Please can someone do a house swap with me for the next week. Already struggling down here. Tomorrow looks awful from a heat perspective. Looks like some nice weather for parts of Scotland coming up so hope you get to share in some of the sunshine and some of the heat over the next week ☀️
