Afternoon all!

Quite excited to see what the hottest temperature in Scotland will be tomorrow! 29C will probably be the maximum but would be lovely to see a 30C!

Moray area or Scottish Borders would be my bet - Kinloss or Jedburgh for example! 24C here,  Glasgow roughly 27C and Edinburgh 28C.

Threat of thunderstorms/downpours breaking out late afternoon/evening/overnight just about anywhere!

UKV: Friday 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00

Nice way to bow out of July - 90% of the month here (IMBY) has been cool/wet!

Really hope that August brings a prolonged heatwave/convective weather or a sunny/settled week in the high teens/low twenties! If not...just bring on Winter 2020/21 already. :santa-emoji::snowman-emoji:

Have a good weekend everyone and enjoy tomorrow’s glorious weather!

Edit: I like the look of this @Kirkcaldy Weather  - nothing too exciting though!

... N France, Benelux, W-Germany, Scotland, UK and parts of the North Sea ...

Interaction of a large-scale upper trough over far NW Europe with a N ward fanning MUCAPE plume results in enhanced thunderstorm probabilities over an extensive area with ongoing model discrepancies. Best chances for scattered and elevated nocturnal activity should arise where synoptic-scale lift will be the strongest, e.g. over Scotland and along the E-coast of UK/offshore. Nothing severe is forecast.

Not exactly high Summer here today with a max of 14.8C in steady rain this afternoon. Quite a change tomorrow perhaps but here getting a high temperature will depend on whether there is much of an Easterly element is in the breeze. Looking ahead not quite so sure of the heat returning towards next weekend especially up here.

Looking good for tail end of next week, possibly a dry settled spell from  Friday 7th August......fingers crossed!

Please let that be the case, I'm on holiday for a fortnight from the 7th!

Tonight's dilemma...as a woman of a certain age, do I turn the heating off and put the fan on in my bedroom in anticipation of the temperature rising overnight?  It certainly can't be any colder tonight than it was last night.  I will be very glad to say goodbye to July 2020.

Overcast for the most part bar the drenching rain between 6 and 10pm.

Light winds and a max of 15c.

Looks like tomorrow will be the warmest day of the month, temperature has actually risen outside by 1c in the last hour and now at 14c so not far off the max of the day!

Rain cleared by 7pm to leave a nice end to the day but rather muggy, damp and plenty of midges about. So Friday short lived affair with it becoming hazy by mid afternoon. Cold Front to pass by evening but could bring cloud with some drizzle or become active will need to see. Poor July so it’s been and don’t think I’ve had anytime sitting outside. It’s not been a wash out but grey, cool with constant weather fronts passing through. Be great if we had a good spell in August where it was decent however I never hold much hope during August as it never delivers here and is more autumnal yet September is usually better.

Awake an hour before the alarm to make the most of the promised unbroken sunshine.....to be met with grey cloud that's still persisting over south side of Glasgow.

Worst heatwave ever ☹️

23.5C at 11.00am. From the ridiculous to the sublime. Mind you I'm keeping doors and windows around the house shut to keep the cold in!

Really not sure what to expect as far as storms today but this would be my risk zone if any do manage to form along that line of converging winds CF12B17C-6517-4503-9ABC-8235C44DD58F.thumb.jpeg.ffe36e81b718b6b4693206ec349b85f1.jpegD596B8D6-CBD9-41BC-8021-4228A067022C.thumb.png.88a50bc87a5da610f82e7f335b25ba6e.pngC3D15448-C970-4504-9A41-A9B8811FEA54.thumb.png.8856a9da9123c9e0eee9608dade94f44.png2F7B2EB6-1E2D-4CC9-8197-6AEBEF35EB26.thumb.png.0380ceead68438c7894f5ed5ccfd18a0.png890D6A34-FD84-48F1-A5F0-984190F6B09E.thumb.png.2367b03fc7e366899e661dabb29f816d.png656C5745-6985-4372-A565-DF669A2E1D2B.thumb.png.fadfff0f75f2007d4a3c41921610ec38.png01601C85-6583-4662-9D9D-08865E560D5C.thumb.png.bf0a27bf85bd11a1af2b8aedcae6cbfb.png

temp was 20.1C here earlier but a bit of a breeze has pegged it back to 18C ATM.

Sunny but a strong Easterly wind has pegged the temperature down so far, only just gone over 20c.

Mind you, happy enough with that!

And within 30min of writing that the sun has disappeared behind cloud that has bubbled up.  Now overcast, not what the forecast promised.

Blue sky late morning but now quite hazy - current temperature of 23C.

Keeping an eye on these storms over Northern Ireland - might track to my West if they don’t die off!

Wish I was down in the SE of England today - wouldn’t be surprised to see a 37C!

It’s days like these we need a house swap system in place lol. I’d love to be up there. It’s disgustingly hot here - 34oC IMBY and rising

EDIT: make that 35oC!

Arrived in Cannich yesterday for a few days in the motorhome. Rained yesterday evening but today has been war as forecast. A hazy warmth though with little real sign of the sun and a gentle breeze made it pretty pleasant for the 3hr walk we've just done along Glen Affric.

It's been a few years since we've been here, used to come frequently, and it's still one of my favorite spots in Scotland, possibly my top one.

Loads of rumbles. Just been on the phone to friends and family in Kilmarnock and it sounds really strong there, looks strong from a look at the radar!!
