Well, July 2020 can just do one now!

Bloody awful out there, rain and 12c does NOT float my boat for Summer weather!!!

Did I hear right that Braemar was down to -2.2c yesterday morning?  Is that normal?

It was +2.2C so quite warm really

27 days now since we had what you could call a good summers day and no prospect of one on the horizon.

Was toying with just booking 4 or 5 days in Spain yesterday as flights were available for £54 return.. Really wish I had because they've gone up 500% because the quarantine was removed

Dull and damp start to the day here but the sun came out pm and it felt pretty warm with a max of 22.6C

It did look like we we're gonna have quite a sunny day but the reality is there's been no sun at all only saving grace I suppose it's not cold

Back in Aberdeenshire myself and yeah, not a bad day. Mainly sunny with light winds which allowed it to get up above 20C for a couple of hours early afternoon. As @bigsnowsays, thunderstorms in the forecast for tomorrow afternoon, but it keeps changing when. They are always a bit hit or miss anyway.

O god I hope so. Sick of this. Either rain or dull dark cloud day after day with just an hour or two sun.

Morning all,

I’ve been on holiday this last week and the weather has been ‘mixed’ (I’m being kind ). Had a couple of nights away up in Glen Clova. Thursday was a decent day and I managed up into the hills, great walk up Broad Cairn and Cairn Bannoch. Back to the dreich this morning in Pittenweem though hoping for some sun later.

Morning all!

Hope everyone is well!

Less said about July here the better!  Had a few decent days in-between the crud - only plus has been having the local beach to myself quite a few times.

Really hoping this comes off for next weekend!

Could be a lively afternoon for a few of our North East members once the sunshine starts to break through - very jealous!

SCOTLAND ...

Morning rain may contain some embedded weak elevated convection, and while a few isolated lightning strikes may be possible the risk is considered fairly low. Increasing insolation by the afternoon will likely yield 300-600 J/kg CAPE, primarily Aberdeenshire and to a lesser-extent Angus and Caithness. A few scattered heavy showers are possible here, with the risk of a few lightning strikes (especially Aberdeenshire). The slack surface pattern and associated low-level convergence vorticity may produce one or two funnel clouds.

Few thunderstorms/torrential downpours showing up there for the NE! SW Scotland also at risk during late afternoon/early evening.

Something to keep an eye on at last! Convective weather today and proper warmth/heat next weekend!

Have a good weekend everyone.

Welcome! Just heard further thunder here, so the forecast was certainly correct for NE Scotland! (And another...)

Extremely heavy rain here with the odd rumble of thunder. Imagine the roads are flooded.

Plenty of heavy showers here but nothing thundery. Might have heard some in the distance, but then again it could just have been a tractor with a rumbly trailer.

Feels warm, was up to 20c earlier and still 28C even now despite a lot of cloud and occasional rain.

Got woke up by very heavy rain at 7 this morning (I say that loosely as I was struggling to sleep last night anyway) but when that rain eventually did clear through not been a bad day. Not clear skies by any stretch of the imagination but good enough. Quite warm too

Had a peak at the weather radar. Still plenty red around us, I think there is another line out to our west. Is quieter at present though, rain and thunder have died down. Most recent lightning plotted appears to be almost an hour ago so maybe the electrical activity is dying out for the day. Not necessarily the rain though!
