Seems that the prospect of anything else electrical has rapidly diminished. Shame.

Just for the record was up to 27.7C yesterday. Currently 20.4C, full cloud, dry and bright.

I wouldn’t write it off too quick this stuff is a trough but I’m still thinking could be some cells triggered ahead of it then the front still to move in later which is what the models show has the main action later this evening and tonight... hopefully

Great work on the photos @Stormeh

Haar is back this morning though it’s still mild at 18c. Forecast for the weekend looks grim (storm potential aside).

Well, I went out last night expecting the system that was creeping up the Irish sea to continue into the Dumfries and Galloway, then into Ayrshire. Lots of flashes to the south of me, which was promising, then to my north west, the cell over Arran popped into action, and I could only see the tops of the cell from my vantage point. After 2 hours, I called it quits and walk home. I'm in the house for 5 minutes, and BOOM! I bolt out the back just as there's another flash directly overhead. Me, runs back to the vantage point....and waited....and waited....nae luck.
Rather jealous of those who got lucky on the Ayrshire coast, that was a nice unexpected surprised and the images I'm seeing are superb.

Hottest day so far, currently 26.6c.

Even more impressive is that this is with a backdrop of a stiff SE wind and a very hazy sky as demonstrated below.

Meanwhile, just 16 mile to the east Aberdeen is stuck around 20c.

Hmm, my interest is piqued.

In last half hour, the skies to the south have gotten darker and a lot of cloud has started to bubble up.  Makes a change from the high level haze of the last few days!

Now the wait to see if there's some crash bang action, temperature starting to drop as now "only" 25.9c.

Decent storm here but can’t see structure too much high cloud similar to last years storms. Had one flash of lightning and a lovely long rumble of thunder also some other thunder. Make that 2 flashes and more nice loud thunder

Think I jinxed it with that time I mentioned before about a haar thunderstorm lol, hopefully more storms head up here later

great pics @Jo Farrow makes me wonder if it was an embedded elevated supercell along the trough.

Getting darker here with heavy showers on the radar to my NE at the edge of the Firth and too my SW west of Aviemore both very visible from here.Always fascinated to  see these types of showers spring up from nowhere. Currently dry  calm and 23c
