Superbio day. Tomorrow and monday maybe a bit grotty (up to maybe a point in tuesday) then when the fronts clear off more potential thundery fun and games to come...............(will we actually get one this time)

Looks like plenty of thundery showers around tomorrow, this from estofex

"UK and Scotland...

Weak shear in the 1-6 km layer and 400-800 J/kg MLCAPE support scattered pulsating thunderstorms with bursts of heavy rain and graupel/small hail. Don't want to rule out an isolated tornado event with low LCLs and somehwat better SRH1 (50-100 m^2/s^2) but overall risk remains too marginal for any level issuance."

On days like this you wish you could set the weather gods into Groundhog mode.

Unbroken sunshine, max of 21c and a breeze that was always there but not too excess - just enough to cool you in the intense sun.

Beautiful sunset and very useable daylight until 11pm.

Saw the first silage bales today which always induces a bit of sadness as it means we've passed the period when the countryside looks at its most lush, fresh green exuberant self.

Oh, a thunderstorm symbol for the weather tomorrow - fingers crossed. ⚡

Wakened at 4am - wind and rain and the windows were wide open, cat was not happy, so I got up.

Really heavy showers and gusty winds here so far. As @Mr Frost mentions next week looking good if its warmth and storms your after, has that plume look to it that often provides some of the best storms (here anyway) the first proper thunderstorm last year here was 24th June and might not be far off that again this year.

One of those days when you look in one direction and its lovely..

sky1.thumb.jpg.c09f6eca6445d1efc6b05f56f1337683.jpg

The head turns and you think, hmm that's a big shower in the distance...

sky2.thumb.jpg.c8e6e2a00fe435649157383d08da2b6b.jpg

Then you look around and it's time to pick up the speed of the walk before you get soaked...

1450055696_sky3.thumb.jpg.e9ab05267aaed4edff4c6d287a0f87e9.jpg

Only one brief but heavy shower here in the afternoon but going by the radar there were a few thunder showers to the NE around Oldmeldrum and environ - never heard the thunder here though.

Cooler than of late with a max of 18c accompanied by a brisk SW wind - jacket back on kinda day.

Lovely sunset though when we were heading home and there is a good display of noctilucent cloud just now.

Cloudy with a stiff breeze here today so feeling much cooler than the last few days. Still dry though. Looking forward to getting back to something warmer as the week progresses.

Windy evening, noisy around the house and gusting over 40mph. Mild though at 16c.

Plenty to keep an eye on this week but I’d always take warmth over thunderstorms  Perhaps a small window of opportunity for some warm temperatures on Wednesday before an easterly onshore wind pegs temperatures back here.
