How nice to feel a warm wind! Makes a change! A bit brisk to say the least, might have to go and rescue my laundry in a bit! Also trying to get newly purchased anemometer to talk to weather base station. Not happening yet! GGGGGGRRRRRRR!  Temp currently a balmy 17.2c according one weather station. I feel that's a bit ambitious! But it is nice!

Up to 18.0°C and sunny here but a fair SSE breeze. Balmy is the word for sure! Pondering which way round to do the routine doggy walk down by the Tweed.

Seems like you hit the jackpot then. A cloud covering kept yhe temp down here, as did the strong SE wind, never a good direction for NE Scotland. Went for a walk in the afternoon and although it didn't feel warm if didn't feel cold either. Countryside and fields around here still looking bone dry.

Much the same here - max temp around10C, chilly E breeze, and while it has been mainly sunny, the mist is now creeping in.

Off now to have some fine scottish fare - a plate of stovies.:unsure2:

Got to 15.1 C here a very pleasant day and sun did break through in stages through the day, shows the effects of the wind if it was a straight southerly temps here would have been a fair bit higher but anything with a hint of E ie SE or SSE and the temp struggles with the effects of the forth enhanced. Good to see @shuggee got the taps aff 20C

There is a thread open about Covid-19 and the effects it has  on working lives. The work circumstances have had a minor effect on me because, per chance, being of an older demographic and self-employed, I work very part-time anyway. But I have had official advice about only having telephone, text or email contact with members of the public and the technology for video conferencing will be supplied in due course?:nea: I am extremely aware that the impact is much greater and worrying for many others.

Another side-consequence is that my daughter in the Borders, who does work from home and is encouraged to do so, was about to be assessed as a suitable adopter for a border collie pup from a charity. The day that she was supposed to have a home visit, she was contacted by the charity to say it had closed for the time being. Don't know what has happened to the pup, or its siblings.

I know this is quite inconsequential in the greater scheme of things, but the effects of this illness do impact everywhere.

Hope Mrs CMD is much better now.

Grey and miserable in Edinburgh. 12 degrees now. I don't expect it will get much higher than 15 with all the cloud cover.

Much sunnier tomorrow and Tuesday

Hit 19c here late afternoon. Bit cloudy earlier though but by 3pm onwards it was beautiful.

Hit a high of 14c here today but the wind spoiled everything; very strong gusts made it distinctly unpleasant to be outside for a lot of the afternoon.

Very hazy sunshine was the best that we managed, though still dry.  Better prospects tomorrow for sunshine here.

Was surprised at how many cars and high-performance motorbikes were roaring up and down the main road to Alford today, you get the impression that the lock down is starting to be ignored by more people now.

Yes, amazing afternoon and evening. Just before sunset I had all the windows open and it felt properly like summer.

A bit cooler after yesterday with gale force gusts of wind and currently 12c

14C bright, sunny with a gusty wind.

Borderline summer up these parts.

Awaiting the final load of firewood at 1pm. Perfect day for it

The local farmers are fairly putting in a major shift of late. It's not unusual to see the tractors working at 9pm.

Ploughing is underway in the big field in front of the house, fair amount of dust being kicked up.

I was out and about in the car this afternoon (first time for a week), essential?, depends on how you look at it. I went and picked up a trailer pre-loaded with fence posts & rails and took the trailer back afterwards. All done with minimal contact, maintaining social distancing rules at the timber merchant. It's a job that needs done, I have time to do it, and the two boys are going to learn how to build a fence.

Anyway, on the way there and back, twice, I saw very few cars on the road. Not particularly busy toads normally, but it was very noticeably quieter. In fact I saw at least two to three times as many people out for a walk along the roads, or cyclists, than I saw cars. Very unusual, especially for a Monday.

I was coming back from work late afternoon and was surprised at how many cars were on the roads.  A lot with 2 people in, some with dogs, some obviously elderly folk.  Do people want to die?
