A few days ago the Met Office said in one of thier forecasts that the snow event all hung on the position of the low pressurse, if it were more to the south then the snow would be widespread as it would suck in cold air however the more favoured forecast placed the low further north allowing some milder air into the mix.

Looking at Mondays forecast it does indeed show snow but it starts off as rain here before turning to snow...just have to wait and see I suppose.

I took the snaw shovel out the shed on Sunday afternoon this is usually scuppers any snaw falling...I take full responsibilty if it all we get is sleety pish..!!!

Met O seems to think my rain will turn to snow just about school bus time. Fingers and toes crossed.

Temp fallen 0.5C in last ten minutes and now wet snow.

Well this hasn't quite worked out to plan  areas of Northern England have ended up with more snow than the highest section of the m74.

County Durham for example looks like its had a decent fall to low levels.

Snowflakes mixed in with the rain here now. Obviously not settling. Think I'll be working from work today after all

Seems like it’s toned down a bit ? Looking like less snow certainly less prolonged I think for Edinburgh /East Lothian area ??

Yeah I was meant to be travelling down there this morning but decided against it last night.

Aye, steady moderate snaw here. Lying on everything, roads included. Maybe 1.5 cm deep now.

As expected just cold rain here unfortunately. 2C

The North Sea doing as it does in these situations. Perhaps evaporative cooling if it gets heavier? (Wishful thinking )

Anyone under 100 mtrs got snow away from the Central Highlands?
