Some heavy snow this morning, 5 cms on top of the old tired stuff, last 7 days has pretty much seen more snow than the entire (stunningly p*sh) winter, pity it’s largely needed some elevation

Earlier snow all gone, even in the shade. At least its been replaced by a nice sunny day, but very gusty at times. Miles better than yesterday's dross.

Looking forward, although only glimpses of 'promise' on the models, the mean 850s from next weekend onwards have been steadily dropping...

Obviously some variation around the mean but might be scope for the odd snowfall even away from high ground. I suspect though that cold rain is more likely for most of us.

Occasional showers here with the wind rising a bit in the last few minutes. 6C

Got woken around 5.30 this morning with a real squall. Horizontal hail battering off the window. Was very brief but followed a little while later by another squall. Looking at the radar there was a very small red area over us just then.

Sleet here this morning. Very blustery showers, nasty stuff.

Trying to find info on rail disruption but Scotrail website just spouts garbage. Someone said the line's flooded near Kingussie but I can find no official source of info.  Any offers of useful info?

No info on trains but just watched the same aircraft going round a couple of times so must be having fun trying to land at Dalcross. The wind this afternoon seems stronger than the last storm and the showers are very sleety. Currently 5c.

I've been looking around too as I need to get to Aberdeen tomorrow.

Their website does not appear to have been updated since yesterday, but it states that replacement buses are running between Glasgow Q ST and Aberdeen/Inverness.

Almost blizzard conditions just after 7am this morning. Lasted about 20 minutes and left a slight covering which melted quickly.

Higher up on north facing hills, the snow remains in place.

Currently snowing on the west valley hills.

The latest Met Office text forecast for Strathclyde mentions the possibility of snow down to low levels tomorrow night. Third Monday in a row?

Really windy here, has been all day, showers seem be merging into longer spells.

Useless transport comms. Seems like the best advice they can offer is 'check travel plans before setting out'. Dickheads.

Just a pinch @Mr Frost? The charts are awful at flagging up precip type snowfall, every single one of them has failed this winter.

We're heading back to the Borders tomorrow, the holiday is over and now back to some of the dullest countryside in Scotland. Meh.

Yes, some of the dullest.... Try Caithness! No, don't bother.

The wind has really got up again. Very gusty catching the back of the house and fair roaring through the bank of trees at the edge of the village.

For all the 'storms' of late tonight is the first with the wind really ratting round the house. Gusts of about 50mph so nothing out of the ordinary but sounds wild!

Yep there are some very odd noises I've not heard before! And the security light keeps coming on. Currently 45mph gusting 55mph.

The gusts might be not be anything special but this sounds like a storm should sound! Turned the idiot box off just to sit and listen.

Quite frequent 50-55 mph gusts for the last hour or so in Motherwell, i still think Brendan had the highest winds of the winter here, that was gusting to around 60 for a short time.
