Alternating between rain, sleet, hail and fluffy snowflakes at sea level Greenock.

Dumping down, this is the scene  already.

Nice one! Just had heaviest snow of winter (not difficult) here in city centre although just landing now on grass. Hoping back home at EK has similar scene to this photo!

It should be, although it is still melting. The next heavy snow shower is inbound and then there looks like a gap for a bit from the look of the radar.

Wet snow now falling in St Andrews but both dew point and wet bulb above freezing so no prospect of it settling. Forecast looks pretty good so far in terms of expectation management. I think there will be some joy and an equal mix of frustration over the next 48 hours!

Don’t think my bulbs or baws are wet enough for the snow to stick around

Great photos

If you could send some snow to Aberdeen, that would be great. Looking out the office window, it's more like a summer day. Wall to wall sunshine

Bugger!

Snowing here again but will ease off shortly and melt (for the fifth time today).

So frustrating - hammering down again but simply temporarily replacing what melted after the last shower. So close to being a great event. Fingers crossed it becomes less marginal at some point.

A few snowflakes blowing around in the wind, and sun, this morning in Alford from one shower that had managed to breach the Cairngorm Snow Shield. It really was very light though and the rest of the day so far has been bright and sunny, with a keen wind.

The MetO forecast for Alford has more chance of snow this evening and overnight, but with the wind still being shown as westerly then I'm not going to hold my breath. For the NE we really need a front to move in, or for the wind to be coming from a NW direction through to E for showers to be of any use.

Another deluge of hail swirling around in the wind here in the Lanarkshire lowlands. It’s the only thing that’s properly turned the ground white, despite heavy snow showers on and off all day.  I expect it will disappear again once the sun re-appears.

Boom, bright flash of lightning and loud boom of thunder during this hail storm. Roads and everything are white again!
