Any settled snow from earlier is now a slushy deposit. Not expecting much to settle to be honest but fingers crossed that changes as we get towards the end of the day if the showers continue.

Edinburgh snow shield in full force again today!!

are the upper temps likely to drop anymore??

No idea but could do with something! Just a wet sleety mess now. Not pleasant outside!

Bet it's not just the dog, bet you've got your sledge and snowman making kit all ready by the door too

You know me too well. My measuring stick is well buffed and we will be having an extended lunchtime walk to build that snowman....

Saying that...... blowing a blizzard up here again! Not really setting......wet bulb and all that! So marginal.

None of your snow nonsense in St Andrews. Good old rain. 2c/0c.

Can't wait to get my first mention of the wet bulb temperature in as soon as someone says the ground is too wet for the snow to lie!

Damn @101_North beat me to it!

Potential!  need the temp to drop ever so slightly to make this a decent event

They'll drop very slightly this afternoon, before increasing again overnight and falling down to -8c tomorrow and into Wednesday (GFS 06Z) so I'd say the best bet is tomorrow evening and into Wednesday morning. The latest run also gives us a bit of a repeat on Sunday so very good news for the ski areas!

One rumble of thunder and very heavy snow at the moment, settling a bit more than it has been so far.

Sleet in the air and slush on the ground in boness.  Looks like grangemouth heat shield is doing its job as usual.  So annoying as looking across the forth you can see that fife is about to get battered.

Up to 1.6/1C now - melty melt. Wind really picked up. All the bulbs in my garden are very wet.

Heavy snow back on here, apparently there was lightning but I was looking the other way...

Each shower is now all snow instead of hail then snow mix and provides a slushy covering before melting. Massive snow flakes coming down now, shame it'll melt before the next shower.

Whiteout conditions here, might not make work later if this continues!

Here showers starting off light and sleety, briefly turning heavier and to full on snow. Gives a light cover which melts away as the shower passes. Rinse and repeat.
Currently bright at 1.7C though next shower in sight to the West.
