Absolutely hellish ootside!!  between the stress of waiting for the windows to come in and the stress of watching the rugby, I'm nearly on the ceiling.

Tonight has been a bit of a let down so far considering 5-6pm was forecast as the period of strongest winds, 50 - 55mph max in the lower parts of Strathclyde.

In the weather forecast just before the main Six O'clock News on Radio 4 they did say that the amber warning currently in place for much of England and Wales could be extended further north as more information about the storm comes in as there is some concern as to the impact of the winds in the urban areas of the Central Belt tomorrow afternoon. Just something we are going to have to keep an eye on I guess!

Been well squally here last hour or so. So much so that I wasn't really expecting much wind this evening, so defo no let down!

ICON now has a maximum wind gust of 100mph into the Glasgow area at lunch time tomorrow!

Should  say most of other models are in the 60-80mph range..

Was actually quite nice early on but wind and rain set in as it got dark. The gusts are really ramping up now. Easily the strongest of the winter here. Driving rain as well.

Trampoline both tied and weighted down!!

All a bit tedious here. There were a few noticeable gusts about 3 to 4 and a bit of rain but nowt to get excited about. Yet. Forecast shows lots of mixed ppn for the next 3 days...

I'd be willing to bet nowhere inland through the central belt will see gusts reaching 80mph.

Most models and forecasts predicted higher winds up here tonight than tomorrow and the max where i am was about 55mph, i'd be surprised if Glasgow even reaches 60 tomorrow.

Hellish up here Shuggee, I've closed the curtains and the blinds for the first time ever -  I hate to feel claustrophobic and always leave curtains open but tonight it's unbearable.

Quite a squall here. Rain battering down.

edit: And now all calm after that went through.

55/60mph no problem today! Low tide so no major issues.

Pretty standard stuff but still good fun.

Peak gust here 45.6mph, so nothing out the ordinary. Just sounds worse than it is on the house up here when there's more of a southerly angle. When it's a SW'erly we barely hear it. An easterly on the other hand, well.....those sound decidedly weird. All kinds of odd rumbles and whistles and creaks.
