Just rain showers in Edinburgh I wasn't expecting snow to be honest.

Next week could be interesting for many. -8 uppers showing on GFS from Monday with snow at sea level. Assuming the jet stream does fire up as predicted and flattens that high pressure to our south

No snow in sea level glasgow but did have very heavy hail around an hour ago. Looked like snow when it settled for a bit.

Closest we’ve had all winter.

Great reading the snow reports from home! Fingers crossed for next week. Weather on the turn here in Tennessee after 2 lovely ‘summer’ days. Forecast to get rather wet and windy!

Smattering of snow down to the bypass at Hillend this morning at 7.30am just as it was coming light. :ninja:

Calm weather for a few days then a big bad low on the way. Latest sat pic suggests get oot and wash the car, at least get the salt off underside.

Yup still potential for the west next week for a couple of days of snow showers following the storm of Monday tracking South and dragging the cold in behind. Looks like flow could be quite strong and push some showers quite far in land.

Especially through the Clyde/Forth valley,,,snow showers should make it to Edinburgh in that flow,,,assuming it all works out that way,,still a long way off in weather terms

@Kirkcaldy Weather - you can't polish a turd...

'...classic Scottish countryside scene of wild deer, grouse and snow, February 2020. #fortheloveofcountrysports...'

I mean, a hill degraded by too many deer is still a hill degraded by too many deer even when covered in snow.

The story of Winter 2019/20 with snow above 150/200 meters for 99% of the time with hee-haw for the majority on low ground. (When snow is forecast)

@bigsnow is spot on - all us sea level folk need to move to higher ground!

Do you think the Met Office will name this storm @shuggee

Lovely weather today at last! 9c, plenty of sunshine and light winds!
Strange clouds sitting over the higher hills to my NW.

I really hope these snow charts from the GFS become reality next week!

@Mr Frost interesting cloud pic I wonder if that could be lenticular clouds (certainly the top 2 clouds)

Yes I think so mate! Walked down the street for a closer look 10 minutes after I took the picture and they had vanished!  Seen quite a few of them over the last few months.

The saddest part of the picture I took was no snow on the hills/mountains. They had a wee dusting at sunrise this morning!  (Height of hills/mountains in the picture...385 meters, 547 meters and summit peeking out between them is 664 meters!)

Hopefully early next week they are covered once again.

I mean, a hill degraded by too many deer is still a hill degraded by too many deer even when covered in snow.

It looks as much to me like a land degraded by historical deforestation and contemporary grouse shooting as one degraded by deer.
