54mph recorded here earlier. Not as much rainfall as forecast. UKV yesterday suggested over an inch between 21:00 and 21:00 tonight, across many parts of the South (excluding the amber zones)

Wowzer, I'm gonna stand outside to see that..

Hmmm... 15mm of rain so far today with rivers responding as expected.

Expecting more later on overnight tonight however current radar shows a lot more rain that the Met’s forecast radar was showing for now which doesn’t bode well!

Light showers here this morning, still windy but not as strong as overnight.
Overnight the SSW wind was 18-25mph. Gusts were constant 28-32mph, with plenty hitting 35-40mph. A handful were 42-44mph gusts. One gust hit 45mph, so nowhere near the gusts of Ciara.
Pressure dropped to a low of 993 hPa around 4am, been rising slowly since then, now 996 hPa.
Had 9.2mm of rain yesterday.
Since midnight its been rain spells on and off, 10mm.
Temp has been around 11.5c -12c through last evening and night.

Wind is easing off now, just light drizzle or rain showers.

A large drop in the wind speed at around 7am, is really noticeable this morning, average speed around 13mph. As knocker has pointed out some rainfall has us in its sights for a soggy Sunday..

30mm in last 24 hours, only need another 5mm this month to make winter 19/20 the second wettest of the century.  Currently the wettest, unsurprisingly, is 13/14 (742.2mm), next is 00/01 with 415.5mm, this winter is now at 410.8mm.  At least the wind's less strong today...so far.

Red Alerts just to the west of our area. This will take months to dry out

Wind dropped to 10-12mph at 8am and moved from SSW to SW.
Big drop in temperature then from 12c to 10c.
Been drizzly rain for last few hours, only adding another 1mm to the 10mm we had from midnight to 6am.
One thing, it is so peaceful outside, without the roaring wind.

Yesterday wasn't very pleasant. Went down to St Mary's in full wet weather gear luckily. Trains were on a go slow on the way back.

Also, lost a fence panel last night.

The radar looks full of rain for today, so another day in the brew shed to come. Zzzzzzz.

Since emptying it at midnight, the ol'  raIn gauge is about to overflow into the outer container (so ~25mm) and it's still raining at 4 to 5 mm an hour. I am not going outside to empty it!

Had 14.1 mm yesterday so am now approaching 40 mm for the event, and 37mm in 24 hours. My very well drained back garden (stony soil) has pools of water on it, which is almost unknown - I'm in the Solent/IoW rain shadow.

As forecast, the wind hasn't been a problem, blown-over wheelie bin excopted. Starting to feel a bit nippy outside now, at 6.8°C.

And now heavy showers which unfortunately look like the order of the day from now through tomorrow

9.2mm Saturday
Today from midnight to 6am was 10mm and 6am to 3pm 9.5mm. Total today = 19.5mm
