Morning all. A temporary lull here after some pretty violent gusts (52 and 53). Winds should peak lunchtime  but I suspect we'll get plenty of stormy gusts with the squall lines as they pass through

Not that bigger deal here in Bournemouth winds have dropped back more than anything. Seen alot worse in normal weather fronts. Rain nowhere near as met officed showed yesterday. Few chairs blown over and some rubbish here n there but no where near as bad as alot had been suggesting.

Wind worse than the rain so far here, only 5.4mm in 24 hours to 09.00.

Gusts woke me a couple of times in the night, garage door was creaking but we're used to that!  A few trees reported down in local area.  West Bay web cam currently not working, I wonder why?

SW wind against my bedroom with window to the south and wall to west aspect has been continuing to roar.. not much rain yet, seems to be rather drizzly in nature. 10.5°C

It’s a windy one out there! Max gust of 40mph here so far, however with a SW wind, which never gives the strongest gusts at my location.

Barely any rain yet either but quite a lot in the radar by the looks of it!

Max gust of 30mph in my back garden,  windy yes, but nothing really bad yet! One thing I noticed while taking the dog for a walk, is how warm the wind feels.

Yep. A little disappointed and also relieved as the tree is leaning a bit more lol.

I may take a trip to see the sea later on near Hengistbury.

Yes! Doesn’t feel like February at all. More like late October.

Couldve sworn I heard thunder a minute ago...

The fence hasn't buckled *yet* but our bins are scattered across the driveway!

Increasingly windy here after the wind dropped a bit for a while. Also started raining now.

Just had a flash and a loud crack  of thunder . Visibility is bad outside can just make out trees bending in the distance. Already had a couple of trees down locally .

Still constant gusting here, down a little in last hour 25-35mph.
But a lot more 40-45mph gusts.
Started raining here, 2.4mm so far today.
Worst thing about this storm is it has just been constant gusting all morning, with very little calm spells.

There is lot of tree debris blowing around on our roads and pavements.
Feel sorry for someone a few doors up, that will be moving in soon. They have four fence panels down. Their sold by sign was in the road at one point.
Their arbour is down too and the bird table fallen over.
Suppose there was noone to batten it all down as its empty at the moment.

Met office has been spot on for us so far with wind and gust speeds. But has had us down for a lot more rain than we have had.

Winds here 37mph gusting to 59mph. Met spot on with predictions.  Power off in part of the village and a couple of trees down.Pressure fell overnight  but now a steady 981hPa. Not a huge amount of rain, and showery and squally rather than persistent

It has all of a sudden calmed down quite a bit, however, the squall line is fast approaching just to the NW of Salisbury..

Just heard 2off cracks of thunder. I was out in the brew shed, but going to watch this come through from the kitchen, I reckon.

So what can we expect here in Kent in a few hours, is it meant to get worse?

Yup.

We can hear a chainsaw going up the lane. Sounds like one of the roads out of the village is blocked off.

We are currently getting constant 40-45mph gusts here.
A good half hour or so of that.

Think we have hit the storms peak now, not sure how much longer this will go on.
Forecast seem to think the wind will drop off around 6pm..

Still raining, not really heavy, 3.5mm so far today.
