Actually.. will bump up to 4.7°C but I'll stick with 55.2mm think it'll be much drier than this month.

I will go for 7.4 and 66.9 mm of rain in a very mild, not all that wet a month. That would be new second warmest just behind 7.5 in 1916.

Last time I tried something like this was Dec 2015 and Craig won that time. He's going 9.5, if history repeats, the CET will be 9 or 10 degrees.

Close, I think 1916 was the mildest January on record at 7.9C.

Sorry, yes you are correct.  Got it mixed up with the mildest February on record!

January 2020 will do for Januaries what December 2015 did for December...... a record breaking 8.1.C!

A rather pitiful attempt at colder weather early on will give way to roughly what we have now, High to the East and Low to the West producing a feed of very mild air for much of the month, expect almost double digit night time temperatures and outrageous day time temperatures in the mid teens, which will Jack up by the 20th to give a 20.C on Jan 20 in 2020 (albeit not in the CET area, this will be a Fohn special in Aberdeen.)

At one point the month will look to be on course to hit 9.C but the High will become more Siberian positioned late month and we will see a record breaking swing to a February CET below zero....... Will be dry in the South but wet up North so below Ave rainfall and above Ave sun

Very mild and dry first half, allthough some colder nights in the south will probably prevent it from being quite as warm in the CET zone as the first half of January 2007.  There's a fair chance of Scotland having its warmest first half of January though.  Probably colder less settled second half with frequent north-westerlies but still only about average temperature wise.

Thus I am going for CET 6.4C and EWP 65.2mm.
