It's not in the Med but the Black Sea. Interesting cyclone with tropical characteristics later this week.

Concerns for high seas, heavy rain and flooding and damaging winds. http://moe.met.fsu.edu/cyclonephase/

If this low makes it to northern Turkey, it will cause extreme flash floods due to the mountainous topography catching all that Black Sea moisture.  The area between Sinop and Bartin is already accumulating large rainfall totals due to almost stationary thunderstorms.

"According to Turkey’s General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) in a 24-hour period to 11 August 2021, Ulus in Bartin Province recorded 302.4 mm of rain, while Ayancik in Sinop saw 240.5 mm and Küre in Kastamonu recorded 198.9 mm. In the previous 24-hour period, Çayeli in Rize Province recorded 123 mm of rain"  Terrible flooding.

Turkish MEt service warning about sudden floods, floods, lightning, hail, landslides, strong winds and storms during precipitation and disruptions in transportation. @meteoroloji_twi. That with the terrible wildfire situation elsewhere

The UKMet office model takes the cyclone north, then curving westwards towards eastern Crimea by the weekend.

Whereas the ECM lingers with more heavy rain for northern TUrkey which extends north into southern Russia before the low moves NE

If you check out the towns on Google map you can see how narrow the rivers were before the flooding, it's overwhelming.

It looks like it will hit eastern Sicily and Calabria tomorrow into Friday.

There's already been serious flooding in Catania yesterday
