Yesterday's drizzle died out by 1900 g.m.t and the cloud gradually dispersed to leave a clear and chilly night with the first ground frost of the season. A sunny start to this morning with the only cloud being a line of Cu on the west and south western horizon as showers move south from Staffordshire into the West Midlands.

Cloud breaking overnight, turning quite chilly with ground frost forming through the early hours. Bright with sunny spells this morning, feeling cold.

Moderate to heavy rain stopped around midnight, though remaining cloudy. Further light to moderate rain commencing around dawn. At observation, showery light to moderate rain. Continuing very wet with further outbreaks of moderate rain well in to the afternoon. The early evening saw the rain dying out, at the same time turning much cooler.
