27.1 at 6pm. Seems today is slowly dropping away, might get out for an evening walk. Be interesting to see what tomorrow brings, but alas back at work for me!

There’s a nice breeze out there now moderating the temps

Max of 29.4C here, disappointing, Met Office forecast 32C here slight E wind kept it from rising peaked at 1:40PM.

Quite a temperature difference between the back garden and the front of the house - quite cool at the back owing to strong SE breeze, the front is toasty!

16 weeks of shielding today apart from an enforced 3 day break a couple of weeks ago.

Spent the afternoon enjoying the sun in a friends garden (support bubble) but had a brief stop off at the seafront in St Leonards on Sea on the way home.

Still plenty of people on the beach where the temperature was still 28c at 7.30pm.

It felt good to be out again, just hoping for the breakdown to be a thundery one here in storm starved coastal East Sussex

Just snuck over the line with a 30.1c at 2:40pm...looking at the graph it was very brief but still in the very high 20’s for most of the day.

Currently 24.1c

Quite breezy on the front of the house (north facing) but boiling at the back where we sleep (south facing) so sleeping’s going to be fun!

Well, that was a difficult night's sleep; being unable to sleep is the one downer that comes with hot, sunny weather.:oldangry:

I do say this every year so may sound like a broken record lol.

I’m still not sure why the vast majority of people don’t get air con. I use mine easily 3/4 months of the year and they heat too so we use that another 3/4 months.

At £2500 for 3 bedrooms it was a great investment. They even offered finance at around £48 a month I think so affordable for most.

Even a portable one at £300 is  a great starter solution.

Trust me - you’d be looking forward to those hot summer days with a smidge of smugness knowing you can sleep at night  lol.
