Blessed Weather

South East and East Anglia Weather Discussion Sept 2019 onwards

Recommended Posts

Ok, we've had the wet and chilly weather, can we have some sunshine and warmth back? ? At least long enough sunny spells to go for an hours walk.. today has been a bit of a write off.

Several rumbles (including one big one!) and torrential rain and hail on/off all day (more on than off!) Looks like today is the last of the rain for several days to come with temps improving along the way.

Stay safe everyone.

Hi all! I hope everyone is fairing well. I managed to go out for a nice long walk today.

A small line of moderate-heavy showers skirted just to my North by a couple of miles or so at one stage. I was able to capture some photos of the leading edge of the band of convection, as well as additional distant convection to my NE. Panasonic LX-15

A damp dull morning here in Essex and mild too at 13c at 8am. Completely the opposite to the forcast 'a sunny start with a touch of frost'

Yep, the Met office forecast a bright dry morning, with cloud increasing this afternoon. Instead it's been grey and wet.

Noticed that the short range forecasts have been pants recently -- Is this due to lack of data from aircraft? or are the Met office mainly working from home with more limited forecasting resources?

Its the front that was going to stay near too or in the channel, came a wee bit further north, it was picked up by convective weather, that it might do this last night. It was shown by some evening runs, that would not have factored in to the forecasts made yesterday.

Lovely sunny day, but as Alexis says, that cold wind took the edge off of the enjoyment. This is a favourite time of the year for me, with all the wild flowers and blossom giving lots of colour to enjoy on my walks. Here's a couple of pics from today capturing the bluebells in the local woods and the buttercups in the meadow alongside the river.

Glorious morning  here in Locksbottom.Got down to 4 degrees but already rising to 5.4 and thankfully we seem to have lost that nagging ENE wind of yesterday.Today through till Saturday look lovely, then 2-3 cold days for time of year before temps start picking up through rest of next week?

Enjoy your day people?

Was hoping for a warm, sunny day but quite a lot of cloud has developed here now. Crap.

Beautiful day here with a big contrast in shade and sun temps as to be expected for this time of year, current temp of 16.6c with a light breeze.
