The band of rain (previously a squall line) passed my area at around 5 in the morning and I woke up to this!

Dunstable got a good snow cover but melted in the afternoon. Hills around the area did ok. I drove to the highest point in the Chiltrens to have my snow fix. Some photos from Wendover Wood this mornin

Nice bit of snow here this morning, so that means it won’t go down as one of the worst winters I can remember but only by the skin of its teeth . Photos below ?

Shower cloud lit up nicely by the low sun earlier this evening north of Heathrow where I work.

Pretty impressive amount of rain last night again. 10.9mm. Certainly turning out to be a very wet winter. If we can't have it cold and snowy then we might aswell get some benefits from it.

Currently 6c and cloudy in SW19.

mild and windy. A small, decaying shower complete with lines of white virga dropped it's load of a few drops of rain. I came home sweating in my trackie bottoms and hoodie.

Never expected this lot, very heavy rain moving east and hugging the Thames Estuary to the south, now clipping South Essex too.

Some torrential rain just passed through. Amber warning just been issued for area south of London for weekend. Though why they are only warning Amber and knowone else I'm not sure. ?

Going to be a wet and windy one folks.

After a showery morning we had the most incredible hail storm about an hour ago, everything white and even now there is still large hail lying on the grass! Temps dropped from 8deg to 4.8°c during the hail.

Was woken up in the night by a huge gust of wind that sent the bins flying then barely a breeze! Very odd! Thought I might have dreamt it until I got up and saw the bins and their contents scattered all over the place!

Another night of heavy rain followed by heavy showers today. Then more to follow at the weekend with storm Dennis ..

usually I’m wanting cold and snow but now praying from some dry, settled Spring warmth. What a crappy Winter

missed out on a heavy rain shower. It's so mild I don't need a coat or gloves.

I DON'T NEED A COAT.

It's ok D, we have our own micro-climate in this part of the "northern" home counties.

Mary, Mungo or Midge but possibly

Fifi and Hector.

Right, I'm really showing my age now.(I know, 5!!).

Well after a spell of heavy rain in the early hours till about 6am this morning we had a drier spell till about 8.35 when I set off for work.My met office app said dry with sunny spells till 12 noon and then rain (80% chance) till 2pm but the rain started and it was more on than off till about 1pm.I know I know about Weather apps but how can it be so utterly wrong at such short notice!?Tbf I have found the app to be generally pretty good but today it was outrageously wrong.Thankfully after 1pm the rain stopped and we had some watery sunshine although temp only reached 7.2 today in Locksbottom area.

As others have said it looks like a nice weekend for ducks and Once the rain starts late Saturday afternoon then that’s it till 6pm Sunday with over an inch forecast for many in the SE THREAD?

Looks like another intense area of low pressure might impact the SE in the slightest.

This looks almost identical to the satellite image I posted on here yesterday!

This wind gust chart for East Anglia a great way of showing the forecast period of strongest winds expected this weekend from Storm Dennis. Saturday and Sunday will see a lengthy period of winds gusting around 50 - 55mph here.

Yup, it was a gorgeous sunrise up here in the hills of Eastbourne too. I have stopped taking photos of amazing looking skies/weather phenomena  as what looks amazing to my eyes always looks crap from my phone ?
