So is it supposed to intensify as it heads into the North Sea. Inwould say the winds last week Friday were stronger at moment

The suns raised temps quickly to 22c, highest gust still only 36mph, but it is starting to get quite blustery now as sustained wind speeds of 26mph.

It seems autumn's arrived earlier this year, but as summer arrived in April/May, for some of us anyway, can we expect winter to be earlier. # law of chaos, wonder what those super met computer's think.!!

Nope much stronger here, and getting stronger too.

My top gust is now 64mph,again a stand alone stronger gust, the rest are around 50-55mph.

What wind gauge do you use.  One like this?  The angle of hanging indicates the wind speed.

October frosts and snowfall would be nice! And very fitting with the strange seasons we've had this year as you've mentioned.

There’s been some nice rainbows today.. especially this one from a passing shower I took about 10 minutes ago.

Don't worry I'm sure the met will catch up when they release the 5pm readings.

Yep nice few Mm's for the Cone Desert but all cleared by late morning and now dodging the showers which are on their usual course between the COS and TOD.

Autumn certainly looks early this year with Thursday and Friday looking like slack low pressure and hefty showers a cold high settles for the BH Weekend.

Hoping we get some mid september plume like weather before the summers out

October frosts and snowfall in London? Think you’re asking too much there even in depths of winter now.

It was a joke.

The good news is that we are forecast thundery showers between 7am and 7pm, on Friday... the bad news is that that's according to the BBC app. In other words, it might even drizzle!:oldlaugh:

Torrential rain timed to perfection to ruin 06:40 dog walk cleared to give a sunny/cloudy day. Increasing wind throughout morning with weather station recording max of 48mph at 16:30, which surprised me as looked and felt stronger.  Watched with mix of awe and trepidation at how my trees have thrashed around in full leaf all afternoon and evening. Gusts currently no higher than 44 but now in bed and it sounds wilder, possibly because gusts are more frequent?  Lots of small/medium branches strewn across garden, couple of larger ones down. Vegetable garden has taken a battering and will need unplanned surgery tomorrow, to repair fractures to runner bean supports. Will also need to find the vegetable protective shredded netting that’s gone walkabout.  As for the new, large herbaceous border I’ve lovingly nurtured this summer - intensive care/reconstructive surgery required methinks. :nonono:
Still, luckier than some poor folk with flooded homes and trees down.

Noisy night here, still windy too, branches hanging from trees, luckily seems only small branches have come down. Except apparently a tree down blocking the A47 nr Gunton.
