I'm curious - these readings at airports. Are they in a stevenson screen on grass or tarmac does anyone know?

The met office have strict guidelines on the set up of all measuring equipment, so at Kenley it's in stevenson screens (there are multiple readers) above grass. I can also say that as the airfield is only used for gliding there are no jet engines to warm the air

Already 30°c in parts of the region and it's only 10:30am!

Chance of 36°c later if skies remain clear.   Too hot for almost everyone I suspect..

28.2c here - max forecast was 28c so should get a couple more degrees out of the day..

Edit: note they’ve revised it to 31c since this morning!

I love John Hammond. Proper old-school meteorologist and of course, heat ramper!

SOOOO hot with clear blue skies and a breeze getting up from time to time. Dog is working hard to find shady spots!

Burning hot, but low humidity so not that uncomfortable indoors. There's a fairly stiff south-easterly breeze too. Fingers crossed for some pyrotechnics later, but I suspect I'm a little too east.
