Some April weatherlore, I think the last one is a bit harsh

If it thunders on All Fools’ Day, it brings good crops of corn and hay.

Moist April, clear June.

Cloudy April, dewy May.

Snow in April is manure.

First properly warm day of year lost cooling east breeze 22.5C summer is definitely here.

Really?...a weak front passing through from the NE? So much for the 'cooler showery Easter weekend' which greeted the NW home page in mid-week, only tomorrow looks to be notably cooler.

Afternoon all,

I hope everyone is staying safe, finally a properly warm day here on the Thames Estuary, you know when real warmth arrives because it comes into the house when you have the doors and windows open.  I can safely say that this is the first properly warm day.  The weather was great yesterday but no real warmth got into the house. That finally happened an hour ago here in Southend, but with all the cloud bubbling up in the area I think we could be seeing some wet stuff a bit later heralding the start of the cool down.

Very hot in the garden today. Plus our Easter eggs are starting to melt Yesterday's cloud seemed to build more vigorously but then dispersed. The radar shows some intense storms just north west of Heathrow. Fingers crossed it makes it to here.

Ah, thought I heard thunder but decided I had imagined it! Clouds definitely trying to the North West of here. Edit:in fact towers going up all around.

Storms going up in a line around North London . And a line just to the East . Can see it from my House in the South and west have decided they are going to miss here so the sprinkler has gone on .

Agreed, it looks like they will be some distance north and east of us; if you put the sprinkler on, you can guarantee a storm will arrive;)

Just had a ten minute thunderstorm, everything seems brief these days except for heat waves

update, now I am not sure if that was thunder or an aircraft (checked FR24 and nothing was close) strange weather indeed

A cell developing just to the north of me - a few flashes of lightning and rumbles of thunder but it's heading away from where I live. Still waiting for some meaningful rain...

Heard distant thunder to my W/NW earlier and just now moderate rain shower.

Winds now NW from SW.

Plenty of thunder coming from a cell to the SE of here. Sun is still out and very still so not expecting anything.

Oh this is lovely! Got to just over 25 degrees here in SWF before a bit of hail, and now on and off light showers and some lovely rumblings.
