Another huge swathe of rain moving into the area. Looking like a damp few days ahead, though nice and mild tommorow, maybe 16c tomorrow in the capital.

I'm pretty certain on clear days in EB my Dad said you could see Dungeness. Now that area has a completely different feel to it.

I'm not sure about the view from Eastbourne but on a good day Dungeness is clearly visible from Hastings. It's about 26 miles by road but obviously closer as the crow flies.

I really like Dungeness, it's unique in many ways, not least of which is it is apparently officially designated as a desert :

A shingle beach, dubbed "Britain's only desert" by the Met Office, is bought by the owners of a neighbouring nuclear power station.

Back to the weather though. wet and windy again down here on the South Coast

Used to spend quite a few Sundays going there, we would stop near a local Holiday park, spend a few coppers in the amusement arcade then stop off and get some fresh fish for tea.. Very quiet and eerie.. well I thought it was!

A few fleeting glimpses of blue sky amongst the grey gunk, feeling mild and the wind has become strong, yet again.

Been under what I can only describe as some weird reverse Thames Rain streamer for about 4 hours. Never seen anything like it. The band can’t be more than about 10miles wide, but about 150miles long. Dreadful.

Not too bad a day here today with 14°C reached with fleeting glimpses of the sun but still a gusty wind and a fair amount of cloud.

Just back from a heathrow run, quite pleasant with the sun, 1st time this year that the driver's window has been opened, only a little though

I actually had snow for tomorrow on the NW forecast. Changed to sleet.

Nothing on Met O.

Just had a squally shower, with quite large lumps of hail in there at first, before it turned into rain after a 5 minutes. Enough to flood the front path for a while.

We need some warm weather now to help get rid of the Coronavirus. It would be so ironic that we get a cold spell just when we dont need one.

maybe a cold spell would kill it just the same?

Anyway. It's quite chilly and windy out and we've had some showers.

A lot of the humid/warmer countries and southern hemisphere don't seem to be effected as bad - Malaysia/Thailand/Taiwan/Vietnam etc. countries not far from China...as mentioned we'll probably get a cold spell when we don't need it.

Back to this country, and just wish this wind will do one never mind the rain!
