Has not stopped all day but at least my newly planted potatoes get a good watering. Ready for spring now. Think our snow chances are slim to nothing so the cold can do one now.

Sorry if this has been repeated I haven’t checked the thread above as been working all day but WTF is going on . This rain I thought was forecast to run through the channel , I’ve just checked rain today and it’s reached far more north than that , And then to cap it off I see a yellow warning ⚠️ has been issued from nowhere .

Today to my knowledge is a big fail , correct me if I’m wrong .

Hirlam was the only model to pick up on this yesterday.  BBC did mention the pivot but the Met Office have been caught with their trousers down on this.  Warning very late on.  Trains already I'm a right mess.  Just been through Tonbridge/Paddock Wood area, all fields totally flooded by standing water and still raining heavily.

No Appoligies either, I'm sure the staff here will say " IT'S A FORECAST, THEY DON'T MAKE THE WEATHER "

Typical - I’ve been back in the country since 2014. Love a channel low

I have never know rain like it has done today, it just hasn’t stopped here all day and it’s been heavy all day. There are a massive amount of flood warnings out for here in Rye. I drove back from work and it was awful I’ve never seen roads so full of water. It’s unbelievable and it’s still raining. It’s the south East’s turn for flooding.

A shocking day today, from Uxbridge to Surbiton, the drive back was waterlogged roads and fields, with huge spray arcs along the motorways. The M4/M25 northbound slip road was flooded in one lane and the A3 at Hook Underpass flooded on both carriageways so the police blocked a lane in each direction leading to a 2-mile stretch taking 45 minutes to inch forwards and the whole area gridlocked.  Our garden has developed its pond that only puts in an appearance during the most extreme rainfall events.

I just checked the radar and it seems the pivoting system that just didn't shift was particularly relentless over this area with some of the deepest colours. I've mentioned before that dog walking had become completely miserable in the waterlogged parks so was hoping for them to dry out this week... nope! More pavement walks it is then. I really can't wait for these months of relentless rain to end.

I had nightmare journey home from work at Heathrow and had to endure the A3 tailbacks earlier, only joining it from Hampton court direction, was about 25 mins moving about 1/4 mile. Some of the dips in roads after that ordeal had big lakes in them through south London suburbs so had to hope the car engine didn’t get flooded driving through them. Then to top it all off five ways junction just outside Croydon the lights weren’t working, probably rain related, so big queues on approach and chaos crossing this busy major junction on the A23, with angry motorists trying to all cross from 5 directions at the same time. And where were the Met Police to direct the traffic? No where to be seen, any other country and there’d be traffic police replacing the lights.

I wish I’d stuck with my usual longer distance journey around the M25 from junction 14 to 6, but was put off by a very slow journey on the motorway yesterday evening going home.

What a rubbish day. 2 and a half hours to travel 10 miles home this evening. I cant work out if I wasn't paying attention to the forecast yesterday, or if they got it terribly wrong.

Quite a few flood warnings popping up across Kent and Sussex as result of the long spells of persistent rain today and yesterday

Check your risk of flooding: get current flood warnings, river and sea levels, check the 5-day forecast or use flood risk maps

Flood warning issued for Rye, so I've let the ex wife know as the house is very close to the river, hopefully it will be ok, awful day out on the roads, big puddles galore, was glad to finish work, and get in the warm and dry

What a thoroughly miserable day it's been down here in Hastings/St Leonards, and elsewhere across the region by all accounts .

By far the wettest day of the entire Autumn/Winter/Spring cycle so far with 36.4 mm recorded at nearby Herstmonceux. Relentless rain from around 8am until well after 10pm and feeling cold with it.

The A21 is still closed by flooding between Johns Cross and Seddlescombe and several flood alerts in place locally. Grim.
