Looks like the last of the heavy showers just gone through London, big blob over EA too. All rain though here, no white bits mixed in today apart from the hail earlier.

Amazing weather today, two scenes from the train from Hove to Ore, one from near Lewes looking up to the downs in lovely sun and the other looking landwards from Norman’s Bay!

Got to be the worst winter ever for coldies in the S E..

Just Rain&Wind.

Like a 6 month Autumn..

there might be a glimmer of hope towards the end of next week and into next weekend....

And also, I looked at the satellite image on Sat24. Does anyone know what this line of cloud is over the UK? I looked at the jet stream and it looks like some sort of front.

Very windy here too in the last couple of hours. Forecast says gusts of up to mid-40’s mph and would say some maybe slightly higher gusts listening to the noise in the trees.

Seriously, f**k the met office. Serious winds here and no warning by the metoffice. Just had a family member get hurt.

Why is weather forecasting so poor?

Over the last few weeks they have been very poor at predicting rain and wind. I would rather they exaggerate the chances of bad events so people can prepare.

And for the millionth time this winter I can hear the wind slamming into the southerly facing windows and roaring over the chimney.. Wtf

It's brilliant isn't it  The rustling trees help me get to sleep, I'm so used to constant whistling/howling now I think I'll miss it once we get a calmer spell lol

Yep can see 60mph on the GFS although around the coasts maybe 50mph inland for a short time.. its a shallow surface low that spins in tomorrow morning bringing some lively winds and rain... again.

Yes, certainly reminds me of winter 2013 I think this one.. Although I like the stormy winters just not the damage and flooding they bring with them....

Leaving Prague shortly for Heathrow, very windy here (mean winds of 26-28mph) but mostly sunny. Looks like that secondary low could cause a few hours of very strong winds tonight, plus yet more rain.

Nearly 14c max here today in the winds, and the mild weather goes on and on, coldest day so far this month a feeble 8.1c
