The Thames at Kingston is a lot higher than yesterday, it's only a few cm from overflowing.

Good luck, hope it doesn't over top.

Great pics.

Torrential downpours of rain and hail passing through South London now. Very gusty. Certainly lively weather this.

Blimey Look at that lot coming in from the west .

Just emptied over us, very heavy and squally for 10 minutes. It seems to be growing as it moves south east. Let's see if the showers behind do the same.

Well a bit of an SE Region Bus Man’s holiday here.... left the Surrey Hills at 10 this morning to come to Folkestone for a trip to Port Lypme and then some retail therapy at McArthur Glen in Ashford..... unfortunately the M20 didn’t play nice this morning and we were stuck for the best part of an hour around Maidstone... so switched the tickets for PL until tomorrow and the wife and daughter shopped this afternoon instead!

Staying at the BW Clifton Hotel in Folkestone tonight.... food, service and downstairs are flawless... the rooms are a little tired though...

Glad we changed the days around as when we arrived in Folkestone the weather was foul for a good couple of hours.... calmed down now... so roll on the Zoo tomorrow...

Sounds like a lovely day out despite the m20 hold ups, enjoy Port Lympe today, the weather looks dry for the first half of the day at least?! Work for me today but off to the Peak District Friday for a week!

Chilly but beautiful morning here. Down to 3C overnight. Looking at the various high res model output, our Region escapes the worst of the rain over the next couple of days, with both GFS and NMM suggesting no more than 5mm for most. Cumulative rainfall to mid-night Thurs:

The most interest will be from the cold front coming through on Thursday afternoon. This could produce another squall line with a short period of intense rainfall and gusty winds. Shown here on the fax chart for midday Thurs and Arome precip forecast for 15.00:

Well the last thing anyone needs right now is more rain and more rain is forecast for today and tomorrow..

The lake at the back of my garden has risen considerably over the last few days as the water drains into it from the surrounding area..

Once it reaches the bank at the back of my garden it spills into the gardens and the land is really flat in some the gardens it comes right up to the back doors..

Thankfully they kept the bank in at the back of my garden but it still does come around and in through the neighbours gardens and floods half way up our garden..

Everything is a big soggy mess at the moment, not much sign of anything dry in the near future with a conveyor belt of Atlantic depressions heading towards the UK. GFS has these lows for its entire run  Feel sorry for those affected by flooding, must be grim. Looks like there’ll be a lot more folks affected in the weeks ahead, if the charts are correct.

Great image. Wintry showers too.
And here's what the radar shows underneath that frontal cloud, with London seeing the heaviest band of rain this lunchtime:

Will certainly be even more soggy after this. Spectacular rain and hail now in South London. Gone very dark. 10c.

Half decent squall line this, torrential rain with hail and strong gusty wind. Front of the house flooded in no time, lucky that the drains ain't blocked.

Missed it as flew back to Prague this morning for a couple of days. Quite impressive near Heathrow, apparently. Certainly been a winter for squall lines and flooding rains.

Thought it was fun to find one of hubs old rain coats and go feed our newly delivered skip with rubbish. Pah it's only rain. And wind.

Quote of the day ' I replaced the slow cooker because we use it a lot over the winter'

Number of times used this winter : zero.

That's how bad it's been.

Oh and we still have our summer duvet on the bed.
