After a brief easing of the strongest gusts, the wind appears to be strengthening again! This squall line could be very interesting indeed...

Gust frequency seems to be dropping in Norwich, not a huge amount of rain either. Has this storm passed to the south and west of us now or are we in a lull before the worst hits?

Feels like an anticlimax after the warnings. Quite glad it wasn’t  as bad as predicted as quite a lot of people would have been out of pocket. Having said that nothing nicer than a real good weather event. The best seem to come out of nowhere..

I know there is not much chance of snow tomorrow but netweather  are forecasting a small chance 27% I think for my area. What are the chances of this actually happening? I know it’s very low but has anyone seen us in with a small chance

The squall lasted 2mins a few stronger gusts , now past over at 4.15p apart from that now blue sky, was expecting more excitement from that , camera ready and everything .

I love extreme weather, but not when it starts to cost money, I'm glad I'm not effected me as bad as it could of been.

Easily strongest gusts of the day in Ashford, Kent now. Models entirely spot on. I’d guess mid 70s and squall line not anywhere near here yet.

Gutted to be missing that squall line. Will miss the storm hitting Prague, too. Am having to fly to London City instead of Heathrow this evening as some flight cancellations.

Does anone know the strongest wind gusts today for Hastings / Bexhill ?

There was a point at around 14:00 in which the wind gusts looked as if they were in the 70mph range. Those were some of the strongest wind gusts I’ve seen in years!

OMG I experienced that.. I was literally on my way to Galley Hill and coming down Sea Road. The roof  and back window on my car was shaking like I have never seen it do and the howling of the wind was incredible. It was at that point I decided to come home !!
