Light showers from the end of the first squall line.  Wind still blustery but I don't think they're any higher than earlier.

Fairly unimpressive 1st squall here in S.W London. No obvious spike in wind!

Highest Gust so far here 72mph, that was an hour ago, seems to have moderated some what, since it changed to a wsw direction, which we are sheltered from. Now awaiting the squalls.

Getting the feeling that the models showing 70 mph gusts over London may have been overdoing it!

Squall was nothing special the wind isn't increasing much, might be slowing even, was told the main event is late afternoon but starting to doubt it.

It's coming - check a radar.

I have that lot up north will be arriving in the evening, I reckon the winds might have peaked in my location however this might just be a lull before later.

Awaiting the squall line here, has been quite bad with some roof tiles and branches down. House shakes during the big gusts too.

Really not too bad here and we have had far worse from non named storms in the past. Scores low on the binometre too, one bin blown over into the street and that is empty.Think it's time to scrap naming storms.

Extremely strong winds here, trees and branches down.  Looks like someone has been injured by a fallen tree with fire brigade and ambulance in attendance!  Fingers crossed they're OK.

Where abouts is this? I am going out shortly to visit & check on my 90 year old uncle who lives alone in Writtle and getting him some shopping in.

Kind Regards

Dave

If its the jubilee way they normally close it during high winds I thought.

It wasn’t the Jubilee Way Alexis, it’s the A20 going towards Folkestone just past the Capel turn off

Very strong wind gusts here. I went to Galley Hill and had coffee in the De La Warr. The wind has only strengthened since then, with some truly wild gusts across Bexhill. My fence is nearly destroyed...

Picture provided barely does the scene justice.

Ah OK makes sense, there are plenty of crosswind warning signs along that stretch though, so may be it doesn't happen often because, the hgv driver take heed.

The wind here in Rye has picked up massively it’s quite scary some of the gusts we have been getting.

For anyone down this way the A3 near Worcester Park and New Malden is closed due to fallen trees.

First squall going through worthibg now.

Is it now, between the two squall lines, that the winds are meant to peak?
