This winter forecast just killed off all my snow hopes for this winter

It's not usually on the ball so don't worry, the October Fog Index on the other hand ...........

Always amazes me what people think is a 'cold' day as we enter winter...had a max of 7c here this afternoon which is roughly 1 degree below normal for the time of year in the south east, and yes still the lady presenter on Look East banging on about how chilly it is...yawn.

One good thing, lots of sun the last couple of days, I'll take that for the next 3 months if we can't get any true cold or snow.

I've heard the term bitterly cold being used on tv too

So here we go... everyone in the model room getting overly excited... I’m not saying anything... we have been here many times before...weather quest have said the chance of this happening at this stage only 22%... I. Two days time I bet it be all downgraded ...watch this space

Im not saying a word ...just 24 hrs earlier...I kept saying it and I’ll say it again you can’t forecast snow 48hrs In this country let alone 10 days , deary me

Foggy this morning.

Going to watch Bubs year do a keyboard performance. When we went to see the dance, it was baking in the hall and i'm guessing I either have to be baking hot for 30mins or freezing for 10mins waiting for her to come out of the classroom

Another calm, foggy and chilly morning here in Cambridgeshire... the last for a while I suspect

Ahh damn it, there's s'now hope for us in the SE next week, charts have gone into zonal Westerly/North Westerly mode for the next 7 days or so now....often means nowt for us in the SE!! Although there are signs of a pattern change close to Xmas itself. My moneys on it staying wild and windy until January (with the odd variation) but we'll see... we are overdue a nice big fat cold HP with wintry showers please!!! Come on charts!!

You're crystal ball has come into focus then looking nearly 3 weeks ahead?...treat even that with a huge spade of salt (and yes there must be tons of the stuff stock piled to treat the roads/pavements after numerous mild winters of recent times).

But other than that agree with your post.

It's all kicked off big time in the MAD thread this afternoon. Winter is over and all that nonsense.

I for one am looking forward to the up coming bouts of wet and windy weather. At least it will be lively and who knows what we might get later next week.

I have not known a more sunny start to December absolutely splendid but today back to reality the oh so familiar grey skies the sunrise was gorgeous, but it’s all gone sour as day has progressed 9.3c and rising.

After enjoying a seasonal foggy and frosty start in west London, I’m back in Prague where it certainly feels chilly (the maximum temperature today was 0°C). The local Christmas market is up and running, I had to stop by for a quick mulled wine

Today has been beautiful. This morning was amazing this is my favourite type of weather. I love the cold frosty mornings. I don’t like going for a run in this weather I spend more time ice skating than running.  I’m very sad to see is disappear tonight.  I was reading another story from our favourite weather newspaper and they have said that we will be having weeks of snow all over Christmas and that they have used the charts from of this site.   I wonder if netweather know about this?? It would be nice to have some snow but I would be happy to have it cold again like this morning. From what I can see from the charts it’s going to be more unsettled than snowy which is a shame. BDF9C423-B991-4073-9F31-865D4F07E5BD.thumb.jpeg.66033a76b1f4868cec93904b3626a590.jpeg

Perfect timing, off to the Christmas tree farm this morning to choose my tree. The rest of the week would've been perfect but I was too busy.
Best take my wellies.
Already bored of this mild.

Hey all! I was walking home from a great day today, and I managed to get caught in a pokey squall line. Heavy rain fell, with some hail kind of melted in.

On the way home, though, I saw a distant thunderstorm! It gave 5 bright Flashes over the channel. Very nice indeed! Have a great evening everyone.
