Wisley was busy but looked glorious with all the autumn colours

Hi Badgers01

Nice pix of Wisley, I want to go to Kew Gardens to see the autumn colours, when do you think is the best time?

I am no expert but I guess it’s probs around now ... not sure the leaves will last much longer ..?

Sadly, a couple of weeks ago, I suspect. The weekend's rainfall took down a lot of leaves. See what their website says

All my mature trees and shrubs leaves have not turned brown yet nor have their leaves have begun to fall.  The only trees that have brown leaves and are still in full leaf, are the rowan, crab apple, spindle, wild cherry, ash and unknown tree.  The elder buckthorn's berries disappeared in September but the leaves have not turned brown yet.

Tomorrow on the south coast is looking particularly rough different forecasts are saying different wind speeds. If the BBC do get it right which I’m sceptical about it could be incredibly rough. To be honest I’m bored of this weather now wet and windy I would like to see some bright cooler weather but that’s my personal choice. The wind is getting up here just slightly and it’s grey and drizzly. It’s currently 15 (doesn’t feel like that) 998mb

Here in Thurrock, the temperature is 14°C and the humidity is at 83%.  The barometric pressure has been falling steadily since yesterday and is now at 993.3.

I have got my ClimeMET radio controlled reset with the correct settings using longitude and latitude calculations.  The next thing I need to get a wind gauge and a way of calculating the dew point.  There is a Met yellow warning for Thurrock for wind and rain: 04:00 (UTC) on Sat 2 Nov 2019 and 18:00 (UTC) on Sat 2 Nov 2019 There is a chance of further heavy rain on Saturday leading to some flooding and travel disruption.

Of course we could a have potentially noteworthy wind event, and I’ll miss it because I’m not here...

Having kept an eye on the forecasts I was right in thinking yesterday would be the ideal day to cut the grass for hopefully the last time until next spring. Conditions yesterday were perfect for it here in the Hastings area.

Today is depressingly dark, damp and dismal. Light levels have been incredibly low all day and by 4pm street lights were coming on. Heavy rain now falling.

The forecast for tomorrow is of some concern with some suggesting winds gusting 60-70+ mph along this stretch of the South Coast.

You might just be glad you are not here given some of the forecasts I've seen for this area.

Just catching up with forecasts and yes tomorrow is looking tricky - wonder if it will be named ? So often we have had more disruptive weather when the storms haven’t been named ?!!

I have a feeling this storm might be named in the next few hours. Currently only a yellow weather warning from the Met Office for our region.

Typical opening day to the 'glum season' i.e. November to March - rainy, dull and fairly mild, max of 14.8c here today. Let's just hope we see something a bit different this winter - more in hope than expectation.

Looking at 40mph winds tomorrow in my area according to the forecast. Could be fun!

Yes it’s all going windy woo, local south east news reporting they are already cancelling the trains  before the wind has arrived!
