Looks like a brief respite from the rain for 3-4 days, then low pressure returns

We came down to Hastings today for a few days, I never knew it was Hastings bonfire night one, if the busiest days of year down here may have changed plans.. a nice evening very atmospheric, choked to death by smoke but a great procession, bonfire and firework display, sadly phone died no photos! And weather behaved on the way down there were a few sharp showers which skirted coast but a good day overall.

Lovely day yesterday, respite from the relentless rain.
Looking dry for us today as well which is good, my garden is drenched.

What is the temperatures like?...could do with that here thought not too bad this morning.

Reached 19C yesterday. Thick fog here this morning but the forecast is sunny and 20C as a maximum temperature. Very pleasant, if so

That lasted long.
Raining again, thankfully I managed to tidy the garden in dry weather.

Morning

Persistent rain since midnight has given another 12.5mm...hoping the dryer forecast after today comes off!

There is constant dreary drizzle which started before 7 am.  It is the bland type of  fine rain and and if I was living by the sea, it would be called haar.

Amazing last week rain stuck over us for a few days moving south west to north east against high pressure to the south, today rain stuck over us against high pressure to the west...we really have drawn the short straw over the last week, utterly miserable this morning and fairly cool!

If only we could get a stall like this in winter when it snows....

Dreadful day. I was expecting the light rain and drizzle to peter out this afternoon, but that didn't happen. Nothing significant, just nuisance value with only 0.6mm all day so far. Temps disappointing too, topping at 13.6C. Tomorrow looking much better with sunshine, as shown in the Arpege cloud cover chart for 15.00 (black is clear sky):

Yes such a waste of a day. Thought I would do all those jobs needing a computer this morning when the weather was wet to then get on with stuff outside. Not to be.

Tales of a mild winter part deux.

Go to local retail park wearing a black cord dress. Buy your wee one among other things, a gorgeous soft white jumper dress with a little bit of sparkle for Christmas. Get covered in white fluff from said dress and pretend it's actually snow while picking it off in the breeze. Today i learnt wearing a cord dress, holding something white and walking through quite a breeze doesn't work.

Cloudy too but didn't rain. Needed a cardie.

getting old.

It is a lovely sunny morning, so different from yesterday as their was fine drizzly rain.  The Met Office on Thursday had last weekend's weather to be a total washout with heavy rain but it did not materialise.  I am not taking weather forecasts longer than 24 hours serious as the weather is so unstable and changeable from hour to hour.

I did not see any mist/fog this morning, but if there was any, it must have been light misty patches which did not last long.  The last time I saw thick fog was in May 2004 when the fog was so dense, it took me half an hour to get from the sheltered accommodation block (where my parents lived) to my flat.  It usually was a 10 minute fog, but I got lost in the fog.
