Lovely day, warm and a breeze. Got a nasty chest infection waiting in the wings and feel generally crappy.

LOL btw.

Everyone is welcome here. There are plenty of women and you're welcome to just lurk and read or post. If you think something is inappropriate, report it and we'll take a look. Let's keep things harmonious.

Thunderstorms are forecast in my neck of the woods all morning tomorrow,  not sure what I make of that.

Another beautiful day here.

Really don’t want this to end.

Wish we could skip the borefest of a rainy autumn to the one day of snow in February, then have spring knocking again

A beautiful day out in Oxfordshire on a big red "proper" bus. The max of 26 °C was a welcome surprise for this time of year.

Sorry, Ben, but we need rain, and soon. The grass is in an even worse state than it was at this time last year.

I'm less worried about the "Benny Hill" aspects of some posts than by the fact that they are straying away from anything related to the weather and are utterly tedious.

I should have made the most of what is probably going to be the last day of this glorious spell of weather by going to the beach but opted to cut the grass instead, Hopefully the last cut it will need this year.

Wall to wall sunshine and a very respectable 23.9c locally here in St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex.

Hopefully a chance of a thunderstorm overnight into tomorrow as well.

23.1c max here today in unbroken sunshine. Cut the grass and was enveloped in a dust cloud, it's so very brown and dry. Although it would be great if this weather could continue, we are really in need of some rain...

Was a super day as others have already eulogised about ...  great views from the top of the Painshill tower was disappointed with the shots on my I phone but you can see in the flesh  beyond St George’s Hill Wembley - BT Tower the City cluster. The towers they are building in Woking are very clear though !

An absolute beauty of a day, and a fitting end I feel, been another good summer, thankfully not as hot as last year, im hoping for some nice day's still, but im also looking forward to some much needed rain, also an outside chance of some thunder, very nice, anyway, im getting a little excited with the coming month's, the will it, won't it, ooh I do hope so, march 2013 since the last decent winter, and the last decent snowfall, beast from the east not good from an imby perspective. Cheers for that love.

Trust me when I say, the best way to rid yourself of some of the morons on this site is to simply block them. It's by far the most effective way of getting rid of some of the more tiresome posters.

Other than that, this forum is still the best if you have any sort of interest in the weather. And there are still some fantastic contributors to the site.

What the Met Office is calling a "band of organised showers" is now overhead. After about 40 seconds of heavy rain, we now have light drizzle.

The writing was on the wall (particularly in our location) when forecasters became unsure about rainfall amounts...will be interesting to see how we fair on Tuesday. Total of 14mm so far this month here and the average should be near 40-45mm approx.

A band of rain to the west but appears to be weakening (no surprise).

Feels as though something in the atmospheric profile (possibly residual higher pressure) has changed of recent, given the frequency with which active fronts have weakened rapidly as they approach the region.

Here in Thurrock, the rain has finally arrived. Wind is accompanying the rain.  Hopefully there will be more rain to come for our area, in the next few following days.

The temperature is 19.2°C, and the humidity has increased from 60% to 72%.  The barometer pressure has been falling steadily and it is at 1003.5.  The wind is coming from a Southerly direction and will changing WSW by 2pm. The wind speed is 14 miles per hour and the gusts are 21 miles per hour.

To be honest since the start of August we've experienced largely south westerlywesterly conditions with a lot of Tm air and occasional brief Pm slot and nothing has really changed since then in the profile other than a late August plume event, with high pressure so continual largely to the south not surprising it's been so dry...I'm waiting for an 'actual' pattern change...ECM was hinting at one at the beginning of October (from the north) but looks like that's going to pot as well.

Some rain at the moment but going by the radar will soon be finishing...

It's all to your east!  Actually, what we're due to have in the next few minutes has increased in intensity on radar since it passed through your area.

Amazing sunset here in Hadleigh, Suffolk. Best I've seen for a long time. This photo taken in the High Street:

This coming week looking good to finally provide some reasonable rainfall. Arpege going for between one and two inches across the Region:

You're right, the sunset was amazing tonight. Annoyingly my phone couldn't do the colour justice.
