Another frost last night - much more visible than Wednesday morning, not sure, but we may have gone below 0 degrees, can't have been far off. Good to have a couple of decent frosts at this early stage in the autumn.

Since last night was the first English frost, how does the date stack up.

This morning we briefly had an air frost for about 45 mins (the 3rd so far this Autumn) before I presume the cloud increased as the temp rose above freezing. Certainly a more seasonal feel this Autumn. Sometimes had to wait until well into November before the first air frost occured due to unseasonably mild weather.

First air frost for some tonight, widespread low mins for much of the UK, quite likely somewhere will record lowest min of season so far..

Already -1.7C here with still about another 6 hours or thereabouts of night time to go. Car looking a bit frozen out there. Have to be up at 7 so windscreen scraping will be required I think given it doesn't look like cloud will scupper the frost.

-3.5C was the low here this morning. Similar to this time last year with that other chillier spell.

Dropped to 2.5°C here last night and that was enough for a slight ground frost this morning.

-3.1C the low here this morning. 5th air frost of the Autumn. That in itself is a bit notable given I've often had to wait until well into November for the first one as I've mentioned before.

As usual it’s taken a bit longer here but had the first ground frost last night with a low of 2.2°C

First night of the season likely to deliver a widespread air frost, many spots that haven't seen one yet, forecast to go below 0 degrees.

Im actually pretty sure i have already recorded a good few air frosts already, i have no thermometer (not outside anyway) but you can tell by the whiteness of the ground and the roofs opposite - you can have a fair idea anyway, if its a very dewy shade of white on the ground then it usually means around 2-3c air temps but when its proper white on a lot of surfaces and takes until around 10 am to melt. that usually denotes an air frost around here.

If I recall aren't you in Uppermill? If so it is definitely a frost hollow as it sits in a valley with the river tame flowing through it.

Just outside - even more rural than the centre.

First air frost of the season with -0.2°C overnight... set to be colder tonight perhaps -1 or -2 if we are lucky.
