Hi, we are landing in Denver in a few weeks and catching an internal flight from Jacksonville a few weeks later.

In between is no real itinerary, although Million Dollar Highway, Vegas(1 night only), White Sands and the Ozarks and New Orleans are high on the agenda. Ford 150 Raptor 4x4 is the carriage.

Hopefully, the weather will enable us to get diverted for some chasing.

What are the best tools, apps , platforms for mapping a route in advance, can they be used offline as well as online,  and what kind of network coverage does 3 (Huchinson telecom) have?

Good luck with the trip but I’ve not used advance route planning - as you know chasing is an ‘on spec’ job with route revisions often every 10 minutes. If I had to plan routes based on features rather than the weather it might not work too well!

The weather willbe a hoped for detour if things look promising, ending up in Louisiana and Florida could be ideal timing if the hurricane season is finally kicking off.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
