Ireland will go to Japan next week as world number one after beating Wales 19-10 at the Aviva Stadium

The Rugby world cup kicks off tomorrow morning with coverage in the UK exclusively live on ITV and ITV 4 

Due to the time difference in Japan ITV's morning schedule will be altered quite significantly through-out the tournement 

25 teams are in 4 groups as follows

Pool A

  1. Ireland 
  2. Japan 
  3. Russia 
  4. Samoa 
  5. Scotland

Pool B

  1. Canada 
  2. Italy 
  3. Namibia 
  4. New Zealand 
  5. South Africa

Pool C

 

  1. Argentina 
  2. England 
  3. France 
  4. Tonga 
  5. USA

Pool D

  1. Australia 
  2. Fiji 
  3. Georgia 
  4. Uruguay 
  5. Wales

The World cup runs for 6-weeks with the final on November 2nd

All matches are on the main ITV with the exception of 10 which will be shown on ITV 4

Looking forward to this. All-Blacks odds on for the tournament, but Australia look decent value at 16 to 1 or thereabouts.

Apropos of nothing, but Scotland's scrum half Ali Price is from King's Lynn and used to open the batting for my lad's cricket club.:oldsmile:

England made it 2 wins from 2 after thrashing the USA 45-7 giving them two bonus-point wins from two

Great win for Wales beating Australia 29-25, it was somewhat nervous for most of the 2nd half, but Wales hung on.

Huge win for Wales in pole position now in pool D and could get more favourable draw in the knockout stages now if they keep it up

Not a particularly inspiring game albeit a convincing victory against a depleted team. England have three wins but they haven't as yet been asked any serious questions.

Argentina lock Tomas Lavanini has been given a four-match ban for a high tackle on England captain Owen Farrell

As well as missing the final Pool C game against the USA on Wednesday Tomas will also miss the first 3 matches with his new club Leicester Tigers

Scotland's chances of progressing at the World Cup could be hit by the weather Typhoon Hagibis has changed course and cancelled games are registered as scoreless draws. Scotland have to win against Japan and get a bonus point to stand a chance of going through

England and Scotland's final World Cup pool matches this weekend are under threat from Typhoon Hagibis which is the equivalent of a category five hurricane

Whilst England are already through Scotland need to win against Japan if the match is called off Scotland will be out
