That storm in Lincolnshire died as it hit the Humber it seems, some darker clouds coming over but not producing much. The main areas of instability are passing to my North now it seems... with the closest cells passing to the East of York again.

No sferics over Lincolnshire now so it looks like game over for us.

Thought I would copy this post into here also from the Scottish regional thread - I will give today a 6 out of 10!

Great to see thunderstorms exploding down South also!

Well not much overhead today but some nice stuff around to my North West, North and North East.

Looking North West to the Cowal Peninsula. (Girlfriend and son but I had to ask them to move to the far right so I could get a good picture of the real reason for taking it in the first place ??)

Looking North to the Arrochar Alps and Lomond Hills. (Radar was showing quite a few lightning strikes over there but I missed it all)

Last but not least once again looking North West to the Cowal Peninsula. (Thought for a second a waterspout was going to appear ?  but looks like low hanging cloud!)

So not a bad way to end what has been a very warm, sunny and exceptionally stormy week!

I see more on the radar forming over Wales now, and see quite a bit of Virga to my SE (not showing on the radar though)

Fantastic in the storm berthing region of Northants.

Wasnt expecting to come home to anything following a weekend up North, came through Stoke at 2.30.and very heavy clouds looked ominous for Whaley Bridge, carried on, couple of spots of rain once on the M1, as I git back to marina could hear rumbles from the Northants NW storm that had sprung out of nowhere in the radar. It continued to rumble and move away.

Daughter arrived as the next cell kicked off and passed a mile or two to our North, brief light rain but it didnt stop me lighting the Barby.

Then I looked SSW, and groaned, looked at the radar which 1/2 hour earlier had been dry and ....

It hits just after the sweetcorn had gone on, stuck the oven cover on bravely, as I was turned into wet mush. Constant thunder, lightning, although nowhere near as spectacular as  last Tuesday.

We stopped inside the boat for 20 minutes until the rain/hail had stopped, I could see the last cell was going to skirt us to the South so threw the rest of the dinner  on the BBQ/oven.  Ate inside as none of us wanted wet bums.

Well what a good day here today for thunderstorms and i suspect for a fair few others too,now whilst it's quietened down i will go through some footage

    the pics:-

these first three photo's are the signs of the storms starting to gather from the south and you can see how quick this tower shot up within a few minutes to become a small anvil

    DSC02571.thumb.JPG.4c9ef22fd7a94bc0c0a6ee35a5c16772.JPGDSC02574.thumb.JPG.c400eae582d50b998acaa69b4ff47629.JPGDSC02575.thumb.JPG.039270ba1c2b9cd50d2a42e851fe6227.JPG

managed to catch a bit of pileus clouds

    DSC02572.thumb.JPG.e6ebf65375b78771af172834893f030e.JPGDSC02580.thumb.JPG.8730e582e7bdc6d68aafcf29b4497141.JPG

the starter coarse, the first rumble of thunder just from this and i was surprised, this developed quickly before the main coarse

    DSC02578.thumb.JPG.26183556fc2298fa0e97baa7458d9e0a.JPG

then i could see the main coarse with some good visible CB's on the front edge

    DSC02577.thumb.JPG.a6de73e7a8ec609beb7417e31c2f5cf5.JPGDSC02579.thumb.JPG.70907d41ca295d7bbd5b3bf0355af945.JPGDSC02582.thumb.JPG.021a70bbf9f9ed8dc37742c2e1e54130.JPGDSC02584.thumb.JPG.519d54fd0b2d60679380d9d7c8b3d033.JPG

followed by a brief funnel cloud

    DSC02583.thumb.JPG.b066627df8dd7eeb3f93add6b74b6f73.JPG

then some back building into the main storm looking west, once this got closer,i could here thunder from the top of this developing CB,it was surreal

    DSC02591.thumb.JPG.6ee1d546388291e8a7afe8128c8ae8c4.JPGDSC02592.thumb.JPG.eb6b921cb7f45630359ef08a53435a4a.JPGDSC02593.thumb.JPG.8409353fab060c6ce4fc4261046fcffb.JPG

then another storm developed to my SE

I haven't had the chance to watch the videos yet so i am going to go through them now,i will post some video footage later.

Plenty of CC lightning to the NW now as the cell has intensified over Penistone. Hope @Supacell stayed there! Got a nice view here as it crackles away. Some backbuilding going on.

Unfortunately I didn't, I was drawn east by the cells around Sheffield.

It was a challenging but successful chase, at least successful in the fact I got to be underneath the remnants of a couple of storms. The main challenge was the fact the storms appeared to be pulse type and so by the time I reached them they were dying down. I was racing back and forth around South Yorkshire like a moth round a bulb!

In doing this is was able to chase a storm towards Pontefract from north of Sheffield. It had some very gusty winds with it and a lot of high based lightning.

I then headed back towards Doncaster and got under some torrential rain and occasional lightning, but by now the lightning was more visible with some IC's and at least one CG (need to check my video).

For a pulse type thundery showers day I am satisfied, I just wish I could have been under the storms when they were at there peaks.

While the videos are uploading i was quiet chuffed at how much visible lightning i managed to capture considering that the storm/s where mostly elevated,no CG's but plenty of intra-cloud(IC),it would of been a better show at night but i am not complaining?
