Looking good for most of south east England at the moment

So far it's looking like a rain maker for most of the SE. The electrical activity might just be a Kent clipper!

I'd Love the rain! Even if I see no lightning it will still be a big excitement with all the warnings and expected rain and stuff, might even have to go down to the local stream to check it out!

I think the Met Office will start to get embarrassed now, an amber warning?

Electrical activity has died a death mid channel as is so often the way of it.

One reasonably close crack of thunder a short while ago.

Rainfall looks impressive.

My thought when I saw it was issued as an Amber warning for Thunder. Rain yes but for thunderstorms????

Of course... Another Bust for NW London. How could I have got so exited ? If you look at the storm motion it's a Kent Clipper and moving away from me. Classic.

The main focus was never really a storm threat but for heavy rain with the odd rumble, far from a bust.

Alas it's looks like the English channel has the normal slaughter. Just a few flashes which is inline with earlier forecasts. Yup amber looks a mistake rain perhaps but not otherwise. The yellow warning for rain needs adjusting as well.

Actually, that storm in northern France looks like it's changing direction. So we'll see in a couple of hours if the Met Office is wrong.

Not quite true. The potential is/was there for some nasty storm development. The amber warning is for thunderstorms.

I meant heavy rain, I never really care about lightning, for me its an added bonus and i would get exited even if it rained alot.

Can you explain? I don't really know that much about the weather compared to other people here so what effect would nocturnal cooling have on the storms/rain?
