Evening,

Well, from the NW a lump of angry looking cloud approached Cleethorpes at about 2045 developing and growing by the minute ( very eerie to watch) until it was more or less overhead my location and still growing. A bit of rotation was seen and I thought we'd be having a good loud close storm........however......unfortunately it all just drifted over and out into the Humber without as much as a rumble or a drop of rain!! Still, it was amazing to watch it build as it approached.

You can just see some towers in the far distance in the last pic no doubt heading for the Hull area....

Cheers, Glenn

I reckon will see quite a few lightning strikes around the Liverpool bay area starting in around an hour and continuing to around 3 am.

A constant train of ppn off the North Welsh coast, this maybe warranting the yellow warning from the Met office, you get stuck under the train and you would expect flooding.

Flash of lightning and rumble of thunder in the distance from that cell in the Severn estuary.

Thunder and lightning to the south of Cardiff. Bright flashes and some deep rumbles of thunder. Nice surprise!

I've seen around 6/7 flashes to the south of here!

Oh and another rumble...

Yep some good flashes seen from here too and booming thunder. Still sounds quite distant although getting closer.

Hey! I have just come back from an absolutely wonderful night of stargazing! It was very, very relaxing, with a bear-full moon, plenty of stars, and a softly rolling ocean; We were at Camber sans.

Before it became fully dark, there was some lovely lightning over the channel! Not to mention, the sunset was nice. So in that regard, I killed two birds with one stone, in the fact that that was my 10th thunderstorm this year, and I managed to spot 7 perseid Meteors! It was a fairly cool night, even verging on chilly towards the end.

When we got back to the car, there was condensation on the windows. Also, when we drove back, we went through an extremely localised patch of dog, not even a mile in diameter.

Im quite tired, yet fulfilled. I’m glad the weather played ball, even giving us a brilliant convective treat in the process! Goodnight!

Well nothing happened in the end. Oh well. Haven’t bothered moving my towel as it never even started.

I have decided to upload all the supercell storms in one to prevent spamming.

Was hoping to catch a Perseid on a night timelapse I was doing last night but instead of clouds, lol, however, I did catch something interesting happening at around 1.22  or 3.13am. Not sure what was going on, a lot of swirling

Looks like you was under a convergence zone

What’s it looking like for Central areas tomorrow? I know the MO have issued a weather warning for thunderstorms but will it be the classic ‘thundery rain’ embedded with any heavier rain or will there be a mix of sunshine and showers? Thanks.
