I’m trying not to get excited about the risk of a rumble of thunder from that cell near Chichester...

where is that on the map?

Bloody typical, a storm to the west which died out just before it got here, and then a shower which just produced heavy rain here suddenly electrifies after it's moved off to the east.

They may as well have issued a cheese and tomato sandwich, it ain’t gonna thunder here - too far west for today.

You might want to check the radar...

The cells nearest are being driven E so they will miss our area and slide by to the south most likely, although there appears to be a band forming to the NW . These are very sporadic storms, hard to follow. I don’t think the Basingstoke / Farnham / Guildford areas will get much more than a few rumbles, but if my reverse psychology works we will get an MCS

Besides, looking at the radar as it is now it’s nothingg to get excited about. Things seem to have died off for now, plus cloud cover is now increasing putting a spanner in the works for anything notable later.

The view looking across to the Isle of Wight from Boscombe beach. All the action is East of here.

Here in Reigate the odd rumble of distant thunder and some heavy rain. Showers appear to be parting around our town as usual...

Can' remember any time this year that a Met Office Yellow warning of thunderstorms had a thunderstorm for my area, Today looks to be no exception. Starting to think my area might have it's own storm shield.

Dry for the moment but don’t think it’s going to last.

Took a little chase but wow I have to hand it some lovely structure to that Horsham storm, big deep thunder and CG lightning. Thing I saw one positive strike in the distance was beautiful but otherwise hairline lightning. Still a great little storm

Good thank god someone may stop moaning now

If you’re referring to me then I would say no more than most others. Still haven’t had anything near where we live since about a month ago and I missed that as the forecast didn’t anticipate it being so far east. Have lost about an hour and a half driving to catch the storm earlier, so I’m being made to work for it
